Circa 1800. Picturesque Lake Winnisquam is the setting for this gracious Victorian bed & breakfast that was built as a summer retreat for the Pillsbury family. Antique furnishings, Oriental rugs and hardwood floors enhance a pleasant sentimental ambiance. Guest bedrooms boast high back beds for comfort and continuous lake views. Gourmet house specialties are found in the dining room. Indulge in stuffed French toast, crepes, cheese-baked apples, poached pears in raspberry sauce and eggs Benedict. A 60-foot porch invites relaxation on white wicker furniture. Romance is inspired in the waterfront gazebo, or stroll through the enchanting gardens that highlight the two-acre estate.

Our favorite place to stay when we need to get away

We've stayed here twice now and can't wait to book our next stay. We first stayed here in July when we got engaged and now for valnentines day weekend. The rooms are amazing (ours has a hot tub/jacuzzi in it). Make sure you wake up for breakfast or you will miss out on the most delicious meal you've had in a while. We bought the cookbook this time so we can try to make some of these great recipes at home. The Innkeepers are extremely welcoming, accomodating, and really make you feel like you're at home! Just don't book the same night we do, or we'll be fighting over the hot tub! -Matt & Jen
