The community of Felton in Lompico in the state of California was established in 1927. Felton is in Santa Cruz County. It got its name from a former Oakland mayor John B. Felton. Mr. Felton was also a judge and an investor in the logging community of Boulder Creek. For the longest time, Felton was a logging town, and the business was at its peak because of the great 1906 earthquake when most of the materials used to repair the damage brought about by the disaster came form Felton. Felton, other than being a historic town, is also one of the most scenic places in California. Thru the coastal redwoods of Felton rides the historic steam train leading to the beach destinations in Santa Cruz. In fact, Felton is situated in the most scenic and forested highway in the Santa Cruz Mountains. One of the most perfect places to spend your lunch hour would be a large centrally located park with a covered bridge over a big creek. Camping is also provided for in many Redwood State Parks.
