Circa 1826. This Greek-Revival elegantly appointed country inn is the perfect base to explore the Brandywine Valley--an area known for world-class museums and gardens, stately homes and rural back roads. The 15 guest rooms feature various combinations of cathedral ceilings, fireplaces (in season) and king and queen beds (many with canopies). The rooms are in three buildings: The Main House (ca. 1826), and the Springhouse, and the Carriage House. Each room in the Carriage House and Springhouse has a private deck overlooking the gardens and meadows. One room in the Main House has a private deck, as well. Each of the two Carriage House suites has an adjoining room with a sleep sofa. Full breakfasts (included) are offered daily with a choice of three hot entrees together with a continental buffet of fruit, cereal, yogurt, and Inn-baked goods. The Inn also offers a daily afternoon tea (included).

Thank you all for one of the best anniversaries we have had in 35 years! The room was perfect – we slept with the door open each night and were awakened by the birds – how lovely. The food was divine. Everyone was warm and inviting, including Ozzi – what a wonderful inn dog.

I want to thank Rick and Laura for such a warm welcome and enjoyable stay. We have stayed at many B&Bs/Inns and by far this is the best experience we have had . . . The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are extremely comfortable and the hosts are gracious. We will definitely be back.
