Circa 1875. This rare but magnificent example of Second Empire Victorian architecture features a slate mansard roof and dormer windows, original Turkish-designed silk tufted in satin ceiling and wall treatments, period stained glass, etched- and cut-glass entry, Eastlake woodwork and pocket doors. Carved wood, marble and ceramic tile fireplaces are found in some common rooms and every guest bedroom. Smoked salmon roulade, crustless crab quiche, baked blueberry French toast, rosemary roasted potatoes, orange-glazed sausage and Southern scalloped pineapple are a few of the delicious breakfast items served.
