Circa 1892. Built in 1892, this graceful three-story Queen Anne Victorian with white picket fence and long green lawn attracts the attention of visitors to Grass Valley. The innkeepers have created Victorian style vignettes throughout the inn's five rooms and extend a warm welcome and genuine hospitality to their guests. Hearty breakfasts are offered and are sometimes accompanied by a magic trick or two performed by Peter, a member of the Magic Castle in Los Angeles. The inn is located above an old mining tunnel of the Empire Gold Company, according to the great grandson of Elam Biggs, Richard, who visits occasionally.

Wonderful, special place

Lake Arrowhead, CA

I have visited this inn five or six times through the years. It is a great place to visit for a long weekend and is within walking distance to many restaurants, shops, etc., in historic downtown Grass Valley. The hosts are wonderful (don't forget to ask Pete to show you some magic tricks). There is always too much to do in Grass Valley and Nevada City -- we love it there.

InnSide Tip - Holbrooke Hotel for a nightcap
There are several good restaurants downtown -- Pete & Barb can tell you about them. After dinner, we like to visit the Holbrooke Hotel for a nightcap. There is often live music in there. During warmer months, the windows are open to Main Street and it's like a step back in time.
