Apple Au Gratin

This recipe is great served warm and can be served at any meal, but our favorite is at brunch. This recipe is similar to an apple crisp, but has a nice flavor with the cheddar cheese.

Baked Oatmeal

This is a guest favorite! So tasty on a cold winter day.

Country Sausage Gravy

This easy and quick flavorful dish is great over warm, freshly baked biscuits. This dish can be the main course or served on the side with scrambled eggs and hash browns.

Hearty Country Muffins

These muffins are a big hit at our Bed and Breakfast and we seldom have any leftovers. These muffins are hearty with a mouthful of flavor and texture. They make a great breakfast just by themselves.

Luscious Lemon Cake

We receive great reviews from guests when we serve this flavorful and attractive coffee cake. It is simple and easy to make, which is nice during the busy season.

Oatmeal Cookies

My Amish mother-in-law, Amanda, has always been known as a great baker and cook. Her children have enjoyed these cookies while talking around the kitchen table on many occasions.

Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies

When guests arrive to check into our accommodations, they are offered our famous Peanut Butter Sandwich cookies. I receive many requests for this recipe!

Sausage Swirls

These are very attractive to serve as appetizers or at brunch with other finger foods.

Highly recommend Donna's Premier Lodging!

Our kids got us a gift certificate for Christmas and we just used it for Cabin 6. It was beautiful, comfortable and had a little of everything we needed! Great shopping, shows and restaurants near by, too! We would do it again for sure!

BEST DAY EVER !!!!!

My wife and I were married at Donna's two years ago. All I can say is AMAZING. The cabin was decorated beautifully. The wedding flowers were in the fridge, rose pedals and towels formed like swans kissing were on the bed.. They had a place just steps away for her to get her hair done the morning of the wedding. Marv & Lorie Troyer did all the photography and did an exceptional job. The preacher who we did not know did a story and passage of scripture we had just studied weeks earlier in small group :) We could not have asked for a better day for us to start our lives out together. Thank You Donna's and ALL who were involved !!!

A Great Couples Retreat

My wife and I love Donnas’. We stay here at least once or twice a yr. They offer several accommodations. The Cedar Cabins are larger and roomier. They have a full kitchen and a large bedroom. The Chalets are smaller and are basically one big room. There is a basement with a pool table. They only have a microwave and a very small fridge. All accommodations have gas fireplaces and Jacuzzi tubs. The bathrooms are equipped with soft towels, they are very clean and there’s lots of hot water. The Beds are large and comfortable. They supply all kitchen utensils you would need (even a Wine Opener). My wife and I prefer the Chalets. They just feel more cozier. I prefer chalet #2 simply because you can park the car right at it where chalet #1’s parking space is across the private road (not very far away). When we don’t go out to eat at one of the fine Amish restaurants my wife pre makes meals that we just heat up in the microwave. We like the location near downtown Berlin and all the shops. All the Amish attractions are close by. They offer complimentary breakfast items during your stay but you have to go to the office to eat. For an extra bump they offer a breakfast meal for delivery. They offer several extra’s but we never purchased any of them. If you’re looking for a romantic getaway in Amish country this is the place for you.

We Love to Stay at Donna's

Our first time in one of the cottages was great! We woke to 8 inches of snow, but no problems walking to the wonderful breakfast provided. All the amenities..tub, fireplace and room decor...added to a great nights stay. We have stayed in the villas and the chalets, and always enjoy our stay. Thanks everyone at Donna's.

Couple's Getaway

My husband and I shared a relaxing getaway weekend in Chalet #1.The kitchen area had everything we needed, as well as coffee, popcorn and a plate of cookies and fruit. The large Jacuzzi tub was in the windowed corner. The huge bed was soft but comfortable. Gas fireplaces in the main room and basement rec area worked easily with a remote control. We had fun playing pool. Everything in the Chalet was impressively clean and well maintained. We had breakfast delivered (hot and on schedule) both mornings. This was an extra $10 each but worth it to us. I wish there had been better light for reading- there are bedside lamps- but nothing next to the sofa. Several inches of snow fell during the night but the plow truck came around then salted/sanded the steep driveway and we got out just fine.

Honeymoon Getaway

We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for the weekend after our wedding. Not only was our chalet beautiful and amazing, but Berlin is a wonderful area. We enjoyed having breakfast delivered, the free movie rentals, and the chocolates and champagne! We will definitely be staying here when we return to Berlin.

40th Birthday Celebration

This was our third time at Donna's. We were celebrating my 40th birthday and I could not think of a better place to start my birthday. It was wonderful..as expected. The staff was wonderful and even when I called on my check-in date, they were able to add on a snack-basket full of home-made goodies like cookies and a pie. It is a wonderful to stay.

Highly Recommended!

My girlfriend and I stayed in a villa for the weekend and it was fantastic. The villas are roomy with a full size couch, fireplace, kitchen, dinner table, large bathroom, heart shaped jacuzzi, king size bed, 2 TV's with free rent-able movies, air conditioning, a balcony and surround sound stereo with iPod dock. They even left cookies and fresh fruit on the table at no extra charge. They also offer breakfast delivered to your door for a small fee. All the shops downtown are within walking distance. We will definitely be staying here again! Highly recommended!

Chalet

Stayed in a chalet. It was cozy, peaceful, and romantic. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast, which was brought in a basket to our door, was also pretty tasty. The Spring Celebration package also included a delicious bottle of dandelion wine made by a local winery. Everything was perfect. We'll definitely be staying here again in the near future.

We WILL be back!

My Fiancee and i stayed here for a few days in June and it was our first time being able to spend time alone and get away from all the headache of wedding planning, we rented ceder cabin 6 and we were NOT disappointed the pictures dont fully describe how amazing it is. Our cabin had a pool table in it and we both love to play pool so we spent most of our time inside playing we also took advantage of some of the extra amenities Donna's offers like couples massage, chocolate covered strawberries, and rose petals, Now while these were an added cost it is well worth the money. The town surrounding Donna's is nice, great shops and the people are friendly. There is a lot to see and do from visiting Breitenbach Wine Cellars, to visiting Guggisburg cheese factory. the scenery is amazing there. Donnas Premier Lodging is as good as it gets we WILL be back!!

Honeymooners at Donna's

What a nice cozy place to relax after the hustle and bustle of wedding planning and the wedding day frenzies! The cottage was very quiet, comfortable and clean! In the midst of the friendly township of the Amish Country, the Fall foliage was extraordinary. The couples massage was to die for and the friendly and courteous service of the staff made us feel right at home. To top things off, I had the pleasure of meeting Donna, the owner of this beautiful estate! I loved her pleasant and down to earth personality. She certainly made us feel welcomed! I would recommend anyone who needed a get-a-way to try Donna's, it's the top of the line!!

Like a fairytale!

I planned a surprise getaway for my husband and I, with Amish country in mind. I researched several rentals, but I am SO happy I chose Donna's. He was surprised when we started driving through the beautiful countryside, then the quaint main street of Berlin, but he was nearly moved to tears when we entered our beautiful cedar log cabin, as was I. We could not have asked for a more perfect stay! I added on a few extras, that were well worth the cost. (Enchanted evening board game, romantic basket, and a hot delicious breakfast delivered to our door in the morning.) The staff was so friendly and welcoming, the office and our cabin immaculate and well kept, and the giant bed was SO comfortable, with highest quality linens. They spare no expense at making this a true luxury stay. I mentioned to my husband that the only thing missing was a fresh snowfall, and by sheer luck, we woke up in the morning to the first snowfall of the season, making this place all the more magical. I really can't talk enough about this place! We are excited to return here in the future, and recommend it to any and every one!

Wedding Stay

We had the pleasure of not only staying at Donnas Premier Lodging, but we also got remarried in our cabin. It was the first snow of the year and to say our vows in front of the fire at such a wonderful place was beyond words. I would highly recommend Donnas Premier Lodging to everyone. It was clean, cozy, and a place you will not want to leave!

Who cares if the streets roll up at 5

Plan a get-a-way for a evening or several. Donna's Premier is the "only" place to stay. We stayed at the Villas. We liked the 2 level floor plan. On the main floor is a small kitchen with dining table.A nice couch, fireplace, TV and rest room with shower, are also on this floor. The steps up to the second level help add to the anticipation. You first see the relaxing jetted tub for two, (Caution: the bubble bath oil can get a little slippery.) At the end of the room is a comfy King size bed. A chest of drawers and another TV are also there. Donna's is the place to say I Love You, especially for those of us who don't say it as much as we once did. Before booking, a staffer took me to other secluded properties, we took our shoes off, a had a quick viewing, all offer something special. Whichever one you choose I know you will be satisfied. Stores close early in Berlin and the surrounding Amish area. Hit the shopping early and then enjoy the company of each other. The staff is great and will suggest places, I suggest driving around the off the main street. GPS may not work that great here. Be adventurous.

Words cannot describe...

My wife and I have stayed at Donna's 3 times now and let me tell you words cannot describe how hard the staff will work to make sure you have an unbelievable experience. Highly recommend the Cedar Cabins and you have to treat yourself to the country breakfast delivered to your door. This is phenomenal...Plenty of shopping, tours and other things to do or you can just relax, enjoy your cabin and some quiet time. If you want to learn about the Amish family and culture visit Yoder's Amish Home and take the tour; it is well worth checking out. But again, I cannot say enough about Donna and her staff, they are outstanding and if you are looking for a fantastic getaway then they get my highest recommendation. And by the way; we have our anniversary trip booked for this year!!

Amazing!

I have stayed at Donna's Premier Lodging several times and both times have been wonderful. It is truly a place to relax and reconnect with the one you love! We signed up for the Rose Petals & Candles Special. Definitely worth it! The candles were scented with Victoria's Secret type scents!! What a treat. The food was amazing and the staff (Nicole) couldn't have been more accommodating with suggestions and local attractions. We will be back!

WAY Overpriced!!!

Do NOT stay here! This is NOT "premier" lodging. Stayed in the Sauna Suite & was woken at 6 AM by staff people walking in the office above us...for $180 a night!?! Ridiculous!!! Creaky screen door... concrete pillows... noisy fridge kept me up all night anyway. Hubby paid an extra $30 for candles & rose petals - cheap dollar store stuff - fake rose petals too! 100% rip off. (She did send a $30 refund for this after the fact, since I complained) There is no separate living room with TV as shown on the website either - the mini couch is at the foot of the bed in the same small room. The pictures DO NOT reflect reality. On top of the fireplace was a tiny TV, VCR/DVD combo and a small lamp - all their wires hanging out connected to a 3 plug adapter - cheesy. No antenna/reception on the stereo either. Curtains are not correctly fitted to the window, so light comes through the sides - not exactly conducive to sleeping in, or darkening the room during the day. I read the other review... Where are these people from? The inner-city? We live in the city & its nicer/quieter than Donnas "Premier" Sauna Suite. Also, the hot breakfast was an extra $10 a person - REALLY?!? For $179/night, I think a hot breakfast should be included. We heard the "Inn at the Amish Door" is a really nice place - for MUCH less $

Management Response
Let me preface my response by saying that I regret that your experience was not acceptable. We strive to make each guest’s stay enjoyable and relaxing. Unfortunately neither I nor any of the staff were aware of your concerns until the day you departed. My staff remembers you coming into the office during your stay and making small talk with no mention of your dissatisfaction of the poor quality of the room or any other concerns. If we had known you were not happy, we would have been glad to find lodging that would be to your satisfaction. Even though you found the Sauna Suite not acceptable we have many guests that have stayed in this room and have requested this room for their 2nd and 3rd stays. Our goal is to provide bedding that is comfortable for our guests. We keep a supply of extra pillows from soft, medium and firm pillows which we can exchange for a pillow that will better suit our guests’ preference. The “romance package” is for guests to enjoy. It’s at their discretions if they want to toss the rose petals or take them home. Due to the fact that real rose petals have stained our sheets, towels and Jacuzzi’s we found it best to use the silk rose petals for this package. You mentioned being woke up at 6:00 a.m. We have addressed this with our kitchen staff along with the local bakery which delivers freshly made pastries each morning. We will strive to be more sensitive to our guests staying in the main building to avoid noise. We were happy to make the proper arrangements for both you and your wife to enjoy a day at the spa. It is true we charge a fee for this service which includes a fresh fruit plate, cheese platter with homemade dips and sauces to enjoy while you are relaxing at the salon. I regret that I did not have the opportunity to meet you as I believe you would have realized that I truly do care about my guests and their concerns. - Donna Marie (innkeeper)

A Little Piece of Heaven!!!

Many thanks for this little piece of heaven! My husband and I work 60-80 hour weeks. When we both had two days off in a row, I wanted to sneak him away to somewhere wonderful. Donna's exceeded any expectation I could have dreamt up. From the moment we opened the door and were greeted by an inviting gas fireplace, homemade cookies, fresh fruit, and sparkling cider, we knew we were somewhere magical. Donna truly thought of every detail -- romantic CD's for the surround sound stereo system, bubble bath for the jacuzzi, soft fragranced towels by the jacuzzi. We had a wonderful visit and recommend the place to anyone. It is extremely clean and well-maintained. There are 20-30 cute little shops within easy walking distance. We will definitely be back!
