Circa 1947. This unique inn blends French with Oriental decor and offers a romantic and very private setting on five acres with 168 feet of waterfront. The inviting landscape includes more than 100 rhododendrons and numerous wild and cultivated flowers. Huge Douglas firs, cedars, Japanese Maples and bamboo add to the garden's serenity and majesty. Many other unique and native plants can also be found, as well as a waterfall and stream. Deer often stroll by, whales can sometimes be seen off shore, and eagles can be spotted soaring above. The innkeepers take pride in helping guests plan their day's events so they can enjoy the area fully. There are maps, books and videos on hand for visiting the Olympic Peninsula hiking trails, waterfalls and explorations along the coast. Choosing a restaurant for dinner is made easier by browsing the inn's menu collection. Victoria, B.C., is a short hour and a half away by ferry.
