“Fantabulous!”
Kerby LewisWhile we were only able to stay one night, we had a wonderful time. Petie and Phil made us feel right at home, and catered to our every need. You wont get this attention at a larger B&B. Hot Tub, large pool, spa tub, everything you could want is available. The 3 course breakfast was just amazing! That alone is worth the stay. If you're in the Hampton Roads area, or passing through, and looking for a B&B, you wont find a better one than Country Villa!

“The Weekend was exactly what we needed.”
Thomas & Cara R10/10/2010
We arrived drained...emotionally, physically & mentally. Our time here has helped restore us. We will never forget the mornings reading in the window seat with a good cup of tea, soakin in the tub for as long as we liked or those amazing breakfasts that reminded us of how glorious mornings can be. Thank you for helping us return to our lives as more relaxed parents and as a stronger couple.

My past experience with B&B's has been less than expected & sometimes disappointing. I thank God that in my search on the internet your place kept popping up! I took a leap of faith and was definitely blessed. Not only did your B&B surpass all my expectations, but your kindness made me feel like I was home! Thank yall for everything and I will keep in touch.

Petie, Thank you or all of your hospitality during our 20th anniversary getaway. I know you were very conscientious about everything being perfect for us. The fact that we found the time & arranged the trip was 95% of our hopes and your home, food & our time together was wonderful. You are a wonderful artist and designer. We absolutely loved the food, hot tub & romantic environment. You worked so hard & we appreciate all of your help in making our weekend great!

“A home away from home”
Darbye McClanahan11/30/2010
I was a bit nervous to stay at a B&B since my prior experiences with such establishments had been less than satisfactory. Well...Petie and Phil showed me the light! I loved my time at the Country Inn & Villa and now have an appreciation for what it is to stay in an exceptional B&B. I arrived late after driving 8 hours and they had my room set for me. Homemade cookies, chocolates and chilled wine in my personal frig. accompanied my welcome. I enjoyed a glass of wine in a hot jacuzzi bath prior to slipping into peaceful slumber. The next morning I arose to the smell of breakfast wafting through the first floor of the home. They typically do a 3 course breakfast, but I am a finicky eater. So, Petie and Phil just made me whatever I wanted! I enjoyed amazing french toast, awesome grits (cheese & chorizo) and had my favorite fresh brewed coffee every morning. For four days I was spoiled and I loved it! I recommend this B&B with all my heart.

“Had to comment on last review!!!”
Kim WeisbrodWest Mifflin ,

Since I had my wedding at Country Villa, I occasionally go out to the different sites and read the reviews about this place. I always love reading other peoples stories about their stay here. I came across the “this is horrid-beware” review and was absolutely shocked. I felt the need to say something. This is the ONLY place I will stay when I visit Virginia Beach with my husband, and we visit from Pittsburgh as often as we can. I had a WONDERFUL wedding there and LOVED everything about it. Petie helped me plan everything over the phone for our Wedding and it was perfect! I wasn’t misled about anything. I had everything I asked for plus more. Petie even made sure to ask me before the ceremony if I had my something old and something new and blue. She said she didn’t want me to get married without them. How sweet was that? She gave special attention to every important detail. I have seen the “pavilion venue”; it has a beautiful marble inlay and is much more than a concrete slab. We were married there before it was built. I told my husband maybe we should renew our vows so we can use it! I have never had bad service here. We were thrilled with every thing and our wedding here was incredible. I have several reviews out on different sites including the review of my June 2009 wedding on trip advisor. I’m not sure that this mans review of a bridal shower should be used as a way to evaluate this place and its service. I definitely do not agree based on my experience using this Inn for a “very important event”. I would not hesitate to use it again and would definitely recommend it to anyone who asked.

“Definitely a 5 Star Inn!”
Donna D11/5/2010
We had been given a B&B Gift Card and looked at a lot of inns when deciding where to go. The Country Villa Inn has so many 5 star reviews and sounded so appealing we decided to give them a try.
From the time we made the reservation, Petie was so nice and accommodating. When we arrived, we had chilled wine and fresh baked cookies waiting for us! We felt at home and comfortable almost immediately. The room was immaculate and very inviting.
Our breakfasts were amazing and customized to our likes. And ahhh the massage was so relaxing...
I would absolutely recommend a visit if you want to leave feeling very relaxed and refreshed!

“THIS IS HORRID - BEWARE!”
Joe Chopek9/1/2010
We were repeatedly misled as we planned an important family event at the Country Villa on Indian River Road in Virginia Beach. I have reported them to the Commonwealth of Virginia authorities. Our experience was horrid. We spent well over $1000 for the 'event' including supplying much of our own beverages. We paid them for things that were not supplied. The table settings and the service were horrid. The bathroom was inadequate (one small commode) for our party. They charged an extra $300 for the "pavilion venue" which is a concrete slab accessed by walking through an unmarked construction site in the grass and mud, into an area that was covered with insects and caterpillars. The "fans" supplied were two small plastic desk fans for the 12 folks who attended. We paid for bottled water - it was not supplied. Shrimp and chicken salad were served in the hot sun without ice or cooling. Bugs covered the food. We supplied our own champagne but they did not chill it without our asking and we had to uncork it ourselves. There was only an occasional attendant at our function so we had to walk back and forth to the "villa" (a two bedroom older home under construction) in order to ask for added glasses, to ask for water, to ask for coffee. My wife and I are the unhappy clients yet the owner went to the poor young lady for who we hosted the event to then further disappoint her and stress her instead of the owner having the courage to deal directly with us. I am former military. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE as there is no reasonable value that we can see.

“Romantic Hidden Jewel”
Cary WoodburyVirginia Beach, VA

We celebrated our 25yr anniversary practically in our backyard! What a delight to have such a charming escape right here in Va. Beach! Decorations (attention to details- down to the rose petals on the bed) were elegant; the breakfast was exquisite, and of course, the service surpassed any concierge 4 star hotel I've stayed in. Thank you Phil & Petie for the wonderful memories!

“Absolutely Perfect”
Amy Boehman-Pollitt7/19/2010
My husband and I stayed at the Country Villa B&B in July 2010 for our first anniversary. We LOVED it! When we arrived, Petie greeted us and gave us a tour of her beautiful home. The fact that there are only 2 rooms that she rented out was a plus for us since we wanted a quiet, relaxing place away from the noise of the VA Beach boardwalk. Her property was gorgeous on 4 acres, only minutes from Sandbridge Beach. Our room was decorated with "Happy Anniversary" balloons and rose petals - Thank you, Petie! We also had fresh homemade chocolate chip cookies (delicious) and access to a refrigerator in our room that we could stock with wine, soda, or water. The fridge was a nice touch because we could save our left-overs from dinner and heat them up in her microwave as a snack when we returned from a day at the beach. The room was spacious had a very comfortable queen bed, a love seat, a small arm chair, a coffee table, and a chest containing a TV, DVD player, extra blankets, pillows, etc. The fact that we had a TV in our room was a plus, since this seems to be VERY hard to find with most B&Bs. Petie had a large collection of DVDs and games that we could check out to watch when we were at the Inn. The bathroom was also beautiful and spacious. It had a bath tub with jets, a separate shower, and double sinks. NICE. The inn also provided us with all the beach gear we wanted for the day: chairs with shades, towels, and a cooler. It was nice to not have to pack all of that with us. The best part of the trip was Petie's cooking. Her food is absolutely to die for. We had a three course meal each morning that included a fruit course, an egg course, and a dessert course. YUM! Petie asks ahead of time about all of your likes and dislikes, and then personalizes breakfast for you EACH morning. You can sit by yourself inside or outside by the beautiful pool. My husband is always tentative at B&B's where you have to sit with a large group for breakfast, but the Country Villa really caters to privacy. In fact, I did not see the other couple the entire 4 nights we stayed at the inn. We had meals like Eggs Benedict, Apple Dumplings, stuffed french toast, and more. All of it was SO amazing!! You won't need to eat lunch on the days you at breakfast at Country Villa. There was also an outdoor pool and hot tub area that we were welcome to use at any time. The location was superb - only 10 minutes from the boardwalk if we wanted to go there, but only minutes from Sandbridge beach, which is where we spent all of our time. The beach was so quiet and peaceful, we had NO need to fight the crowds of the boardwalk to get to the beach. We will always go to Sandbridge beach and Country Villa B&B when we return to the area. We loved it! My husband and I also booked a couples massage which was AMAZING, and was done on-site at the Inn in Petie's spa room. So nice to only walk steps from our room to complete pampering! Petie, thank you for making our vacation perfect in every way! There is nothing I can think of to make our stay with you any better! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Sincerely, Amy and Jack Pollitt

My hubby and I were a little skeptical of the B&B concept. We have always been the big hotel chain kind of people, but this was the most ramantic spot that we have stayed in 20 years. Petie and Phil were the best hosts. The home was beautiful, warm and welcoming. The food was top knotch and we can not wait to visit again.

We were in great need of a relaxing getaway and found it at Country Villa Inn. Petie and Phil are the best hosts imaginable, easy to get to know, entertaining and non-intrusive. The three course breakfast is outstanding - request the apple dumplins. They are the bomb! Not only was this B&B beautiful, clean and comfortable the owners specialize in catering to your every need - from providing directions to finding out your culinary likes and dislikes, making reservations for dinner and even pouring your coffee. Petie and Phil are tops and combined with the beautiful aesthetically pleasing surroundings, Country Villa Inn is definitely the place to stay! - Kathy & Anne - Hopewell, VA

“A Romantic Weekend to Remember”
Sabiha Pradhan8/24/2009
Petie and Phil (the innkeepers) made this B&B experience the best we could have ever asked for. They provided us with exceptional service and were ever present to all our needs and desires. Everything in the B&B was designed keeping the guest's comfort in mind. We had a bottle of wine waiting for us in the room when we checked in along with homebaked yummy cookies. I am a very pickey person when it comes to quality and everything in this B&B matched my quality standards. A combination of the service, comfort and convenience made us feel just like home. The breakfast was excellent!! Petie should start a cooking school in the future. We had a 3 course breakfast which we chose to enjoy outside by the pool (we also had the option of sitting indoors). Their outdoor hot tub was a great spot to relax with a bottle of wine at the end of the day. Petie and Phil are wonderfully warm individuals who enjoy being host (and do a great job of it). We loved them both and will be back to virginia beach in a hurry to visit them!

“Amazing”
Kay Williams8/17/2009
A Country Villa B&B
Petie (the innkeeper) was amazing. When we arrived, we had a bottle of wine
waiting for us. While we were out by the pool, she brought us delicious
oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. It was my birthday, so there was a birthday
greeting card in our room. She did everything to make sure that we had a
wonderful stay. The room was so romantic and beautiful and a bath in the
jetted tub (with wonderful bath salts) was a nice end to my day.
The next morning we had breakfast - or breakfeast, rather. The first course
was fresh fruit - pineapple, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, plums
and nectarines - oh so fresh! Then we had the egg course. The dishes were
amazing and perfectly prepared! Stuffed French toast for the dessert course
absolutely stuffed us! We didn't eat anything else until after 5:30!
We only stayed one night, but as we were leaving to go to Sandbridge beach,
Petie noticed that we did not have beach chairs or umbrella. She insisted
that we take some from the inn and just return them on our way home. Such
hospitality is a lost art these days! I highly recommend staying at this
wonderful inn!

Stan & Leonie Lacienski2/1/2009
Even though very much inspired by Phil and Peties beautiful website, nothing could have prepared us for the wonderful and unique experience of 'The Country Villa'. The welcome of folks whom you feel you have known all your life....the beautiful, meticulously decorated rooms....their amazing food. We felt truly catered for in every way. Nothing was a problem....nothing!! To appreciate, you must experience for yourself.......
