Very Creative

My Wife and I had a very wonderful time at this Inn. The owner is very creative with her Breakfast meals and The meals are excellent. We actually spent half our stay on one room and then moved to another to try it out. The rooms were both wonderful. And the hospitality of the owners is out of this world.

Just Bizarre

We stayed in the "Constable's Suite" and there was a random tub in the sitting room which made the carpet reek of mildew. We were sneezing for two days. The food was DISGUSTING and the proprietors never answered their phones to help when we needed coffee, etc. Overpromised and underdelivered for sure. Bed was also very uncomfortable. About the only possible good side was the location.

Management Response
Dear Guests, I recently read your review of the Cornwall Inn. As an owner, an innkeeper and a person who takes great pride in my business, I was deeply disheartened and surprised by your comments. It is always our goal to provide our guests with exemplary service and a memorable and wonderful experience. Because I was so surprised and distressed by the notion that any one of our rooms might have mildew or dampness, I called in a specialist to evaluate the room. I was assured that there are no mildew or allergen issues of any kind in that room. While I'm sorry that something caused you to sneeze; we service our rooms twice daily and so I am most certain that that occurrence was not at all connected to the condition or cleanliness of the room. Additionally, I took to heart your comment regarding our breakfast food. I'm sorry that you were so dissatisfied with the menu during your stay and I truly wish you would have expressed your feelings at that time. We would have been happy to tailor something to suit your taste preferences. All that being said I thank you for your review as it as an opportunity to learn and grow as an innkeeper and business owner. Thank you again. Lynne Porter Owner/Innkeeper

BEAUTIFUL WEDDING

We recently had our wedding at Cornwall Inn. Our coordinator, Lauren, was fantastic! She was always available to me for questions, discussions of what to do, etc. We stayed overnight in the Constable and had an EXCELLENT breakfast the next morning. They even catered to my parent's who came the next morning to watch us open gifts and help to load up the cars to go home. The food was wonderful (both wedding reception food made by local Amish, and the breakfast the morning after was so original and creative). Lynne is awesome and was one of my many "rocks to lean on" throughout our wedding day. We can't wait for our 1 year anniversary to stay again!

Quirky, but not quite right

My mom and I stayed in the Harkins Suite and, while it is no where near our top 10 worst places, it was no where near the best either! The room had large black ants (and the guest book indicated that they had been a problem for quite a while); we had problems having the room serviced (we took care of things ourselves as we often do and told the inn keeper that we had, all we asked for was to have the garbage changed and new towels for the whirlpool - well, we got new towels, but the old wet ones were left on the leather couch!) and getting through to the inn keeper was not an easy task.

Weekend Getaway

My husband and I went to the Cornwall Inn as a getaway weekend and used a Groupon. My husband loves trains and the inn has an old railroad bridge as a backdrop to the Inn. The innkeeper, Lynee was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the history of the inn and the railroad. She made our experience a pleasureable one. She recommended the Blue Bird Inn for lunch and it was a great choice. The food at the Cornwall Inn was delicious and the accomodations in the Washington Room were very romantic and cozy. We will return in the summer with our girls for a visit. I think the girls would like talking to Avery, the innkeeper's daughter and petting Jeeps, the cat.
