Christmas House B&B

My daughter and I stayed at The Christmas House for Spring Break. The room was so sweet and cozy. Penny and Margaret were so hospitable and full of information about places to visit. The location was absolutely perfect. Parking was easy and driving to the San Antonio sites took 5-10 minutes. Breakfasts were tasty and relaxing. I felt like was at home or visiting with old friends. The private entrance to our room was very convenient and we felt comfortable coming and going on our own schedule. This was the best bed and breakfast experience I've ever had.

I greatly enjoyed my stay at the Christmas House. I had a clean room at a reasonable price, and delicious and varied breakfasts in interesting surroundings. More than that, I appreciate the friendliness, helpfulness and kindness of Penny and Margaret

My husband and I stayed here during a recent Ft Sam graduation (nov17-21). After having made a few changes in our booking, we arrived late and were warmly welcomed by Penny and Margaret. Not only did we receive a military discount; but also our young soldier was offered the opportunity to stay with his parents (he was unable to) and was allowed to eat breakfast with us as well. During our stay the annual estate sale was occurring (we had been forewarned about it )-aside from the many beautiful items displayed for sale, we would not have known an estate sale was happening that weekend. The property is beautiful-huge windows, high ceilings, lovely staircase and of course the Christmas decorations were just what I needed to get into the holiday spirit. We loved the conversations and detailed information we received from both women-from the dead on restaurant suggestions-(within walking distance)to the historical aspects of San Antonio.Oh and not to be forgotten but the breakfasts were wonderful especially the pecan waffles( we loved hearing the sweet story about Grant(Penny's deceased spouse) preparing the pecans -we were touched to hear the pecans were in our waffles that morning

Dirty and had a bad smell. Location is not good for sight seeing. Walked in very junky viewed the room before paying and left to find another hotel.

We loved staying here and we will be recommending it to our friends.

My husband and I recently stayed for three nights while dropping our daughter off for college. It was a fantastic experience. Great food with warm cookies every night and great conversation. Penny is so gracious and very knowledgeable about the history of the house and area. It truly was like we were staying with family. We couldn't have asked for a better stay. My husband and I stayed here for our one year aniversary and had an excellent time! The food was great and Penny was an excellent host and the price was more than reasonable! We will revisit this B&B. Although I do have to warn you, Penny plays a mean game of gin. Our aniversary will most certainly be one to remember!

What a treat to rise to the sweet smell of candied pecans and a tasty breakfast.
