Circa 1869. Walk to the many local sights of New Orleans, Louisiana, from this historic, traditional Creole Cottage located just two blocks from the French Quarter and four blocks from Frenchmen Street in the historic Faubourg Marigny. Public transportation makes it easy to explore the rest of the city as well. Relax on the deck before or after exploring the area. The name, Chez Palmiers, translated into English is House of Palms and it boasts a very comfortable blend of antiques and interesting newer pieces as well as personal touches in photos, artwork, memorabilia and heirlooms. Air-conditioned guest rooms feature wifi, and pleasing amenities, as well as open access to the dining room leading to the pool. Indulge in a latte from the espresso machine and a continental breakfast each morning.

New Orleans is a city that offers a bit of everything and we have experienced high end hotels and small B&Bs. This trip was with our adult children and Chez Palmiers was perfect for us. Hosts, Schuyler and David have a restored cajun cottage appointed with an eclectic mix of memorabilia that allows you to get to know them from their travels and interests. They are gracious and warm and you at once feel like you are visiting friends in their home. Breakfast was offered in the dining room with a lovely assortment of fresh fruit, juices, yogurt, cheese, breads, coffee, and daily paper. Both breakfast and cocktails were enjoyed sitting on the deck by the pool sharing conversation and gaining valuable local information. The three guest rooms were ideal for our family. The city has to be experienced on foot and the house is located between the French Quarter and the Faubourg Marginy, an area often overlooked and not to be missed. Walk and/or use the Taxis as there is not good parking and traffic is always congested. To sum it up, our 26 year old son said, "I'm sad to leave. I love this place." Now is the time to visit New Orleans. The citizens have worked hard to put the city back in order and have done it with success and pride.

BOTTOM LINE: I would stay here again.

Minimum Stay Requirements:	Two night minimun - Three night minimum for holidays and events - Four night minimum for Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest
Children Restrictions:	Families with children 13 or older are welcome. Children younger than 13 may be allowed if the group is booking all three rooms.
Cancellation:	If your reservation is canceled by 6:00 p.m. Central Time at least 14 days prior to check-in date, your deposit will be refunded, minus a $25.00 cancellation fee. Your deposit will not be refunded if cancelled after that time. The entire stay will be charged to your credit card for cancellations made seven days or less prior to arrival, unless able to re-book the room. There is no credit for late arrivals or early departures. For Special Events/Holidays, Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest, and when booking all three rooms where full payment is required at least 30 days in advance of the arrival date, there is no refund for cancellation less than 30 days, unless able to re-book the room(s). There will be no refund if you are asked to leave the premises for violation of any house rules or for conducting yourself in a way that is illegal or that interferes with the comfort or enjoyment of other guests.
