One of the nation's three inns awarded five diamonds, this elegant estate is superb in both lodging and cuisine. Set back from the road off the Southern entrance to Yosemite, the French-country estate features a gathering room with a Monticello-like domed performance area with floor-to-ceiling palladian windows and grand piano, fireplace, beamed ceiling and oak and tile floors. Finely decorated guest rooms may include a canopy bed, whirlpool for two overlooking a garden, antique desk or a fireplace. Beds are dressed in Italian linens and down comforters. There are formal rose gardens and herb gardens. Erna's Elderbery House Restaurant is on the premises but in a separate building.
