Charlotte Inn
Edgartown, MA 02539
Circa 1864. Shaded by linden and chestnut trees and just minutes from the historic town center, this white clapboard merchant's house is a combination of old-world charm and modern-day elegance. To maintain its historic character, the inn remains purposely behind the times. The inn features 19th-century American and English art, Oriental rugs and crystal chandeliers. Richly paneled mahogany walls, antique fixtures, standing clocks and converted gas lamps add to the inn's natural romantic ambiance. Guest rooms are accented with late 19th-century English antiques, down comforters and four-poster beds. The inn's restaurant features a combination of continental cooking with traditional New England ingredients from the fields, streams and sea.
