Circa 1910. One of the few remaining shingle-clad buildings in Los Angeles, Channel Road Inn in seaside Santa Monica, California, is a variation of the Colonial Revival Period. The abandoned home was saved from the city's wrecking crew with the encouragement of the local historical society. Well-appointed guest bedrooms feature fireplaces, jetted spa tubs and private porches. A bountiful breakfast as well as afternoon wine and appetizers are served. The Pacific Ocean is one block away, Borrow the inn's bicycles to pedal along the 30-mile coastal bike path. In the evening, the spectacular cliffside spa is popular. Channel Road Inn recently joined the Four Sisters Inns collection.
