Circa 1742. Considered on the island to be a typical Nantucket house in the Old Historic District, it is Quaker in design and was originally the home of a whale oil trader. Later converted into a boardinghouse, it became one of the area's earliest inns. Resident innkeeprs Sheila and Fred have made many pleasant changes to ensure a relaxing stay. Family heirlooms, antiques and reproduction pieces create a warm and inviting ambiance of casual elegance. Make new friends in the spacious common room over a cup of tea. A thoughtful guest pantry has a refrigerator with ice maker and a microwave. Guest bedrooms, named after holidays, are accented with English pine, wicker, canopy beds, chintz, gingham, florals and a touch of whimsy. Indulge in a leisurely breakfast buffet by candlelight or on the brick garden patio.
