Secluded on six acres in an historic mountain village, this Adobe-style inn features Spanish Colonial architecture. Tongue and groove ceilings, heavy beams known as vigas, French doors, wood, brick and Saltillo tile floors all add to the warm ambiance. The air is scented with the fragrance of pinon wood from kiva fireplaces. A library offers quiet entertainment. Inviting guest bedrooms include bathrobes to relax in. Some rooms boast gorgeous views, oversized tubs, fireplaces, private access to a deck or patio, and can be made into an adjoining suite. Enjoy a leisurely gourmet breakfast in the sunny dining room, or alfresco. Surrounded by trees, an outside hot tub is the perfect spot to relax.

Describe Garden and Grounds

We offer a rural setting on 6 secluded acres. We are located ¼ of a mile off of the road. Our county setting offers views of pastures, foothills and mountains. Flower beds contain xeric, native plants that were selected to attract butterflies and hummingbirds. Seed and nectar birdfeeders attract a variety of wildlife as do the nesting boxes that are located throughout the grounds.

Charm & Tranquility

Casa Escondida is a charming B&B with very friendly staff and excellent food! The setting is rustic, and very peaceful, and it is nestled right in the middle of everything that is beautiful about Northern New Mexico. This is a great place to escape the day to day if you live in Albuquerque or Santa Fe, close to home yet far away. Also a great place to stay if it is your first, or 21st visit to NM from out of State! We cannot wait to go back.

The Hidden Gem of New Mexico

I had to travel for work in Albuquerque, and decided to take the opportunity to take a long weekend "off the beaten track". I could not have picked a better place than Casa Escondida. The rooms are wonderful, the food is good, and if you're nice Griffin the cat will keep you company by the fireplace at night. The location was perfect for me. A short 30 min drive from Santa Fe, I felt like going back to "my mansion in the mountains" after a busy day visiting museums and art galleries. Although very small, Chimayo is close to many good restaurants, and a very short drive to many great trails for hiking. I highly recommend!
