I had to travel for work in Albuquerque, and decided to take the opportunity to take a long weekend "off the beaten track". I could not have picked a better place than Casa Escondida. The rooms are wonderful, the food is good, and if you're nice Griffin the cat will keep you company by the fireplace at night. The location was perfect for me. A short 30 min drive from Santa Fe, I felt like going back to "my mansion in the mountains" after a busy day visiting museums and art galleries. Although very small, Chimayo is close to many good restaurants, and a very short drive to many great trails for hiking. I highly recommend!

Secluded on six acres in an historic mountain village, this Adobe-style inn features Spanish Colonial architecture. Tongue and groove ceilings, heavy beams known as vigas, French doors, wood, brick and Saltillo tile floors all add to the warm ambiance.
