Description

Circa 1915. Set amongst vineyards, this two-acre Prairie-style country estate with breathtaking views was given historic designation by Sonoma County. A fireplace, library and game table are located in the Victorian breakfast parlor. The sitting parlor offers a reading nook and small visitors center. Romantic guest bedrooms and suites feature four-poster and sleigh beds. The spacious Red Room boasts a soaking tub with shower and a private balcony overlooking the pond and hazelnut trees. Fresh produce from the orchard and garden provides ingredients for seasonal breakfast recipes like artichoke cheese frittata, scones and poached pears. Relax on the wraparound porch facing mountain vistas.

Historic Interest

John Wilson, brother-in-law to General Vallejo was originally awarded the land on which Casa Bella Inn sits in 1837, as part of the Los Guilicos land grant. Years later, around 1914, Charles and Mary Monroe, acquired the property and constructed the house, when the town of Kenwood was just emerging. At one point, the descendants of John Muir were owners of the property. In 1998, the Inn was registered as an official Sonoma County Historic Landmark.
