Circa 1878. The city's oldest occupied home, this bed & breakfast with manicured lawns, a Koi pond and patio, also features a highly acclaimed restaurant. The interior was built using more than one mile of curly pine. The milled lumber, known for its interesting grain pattern, came from diseased trees, now thought to be extinct. The Carson Room boasts a sleigh bed, sitting area and private entrance. It adjoins the Abernathy Room with a brass bed. The Camp Room offers a relaxing two-person whirlpool tub. The private Carson and Barnes Railroad Car, decorated with artifacts, is a fitting tribute to local history. A refrigerator, two-person shower and a Jacuzzi just outside make this a perfect retreat. A cooked-to-order breakfast is made when desired.
