Romantic Interest
The decor in all guest areas exudes romance both due to period furnishings and wallpaper, as well as the overall ambience of this elegent, building with 12-foot ceilings, beautiful woodwork and ballistrade 3-story staircase.
Historic Interest
One of the finest examples of Second Empire architectural design in the country, built in 1874 with its original character and design intact. Built by a member of one of Maine's most prominent ship building families, the McGilvery family. Also home to legendary impressionist painter Waldo Peirce, portrait artist and life-long best friend of Ernest Hemingway.
