Carriage House at the Harbor

We enjoyed celebrating our 20 year Anniversary at The Carriage House. The location was supurb being close to the beach and harbor. The inn was clean and well kept with very nice innkeepers. In the morning we awoke to beautiful music and a fabulous breakfast. This was truely and enjoyable inn and we would definetly stay here again.

What a wonderful time we had on our visit to Carriage House. Traveling for our sister's 60th birthday, my brothers and sisters and I all gathered at this charming inn and spent four glorious days together. Our rooms were all distinctly different and charming, with working fireplaces and balconies overlooking the harbor. Breakfast each morning was delicious and accompanied by our hostess, Suzanne's, informative and entertaining discussion of the activities available in the area that day. Each evening we and the other guests would gather in the warm, inviting common area for scrumptious appetizers, set out by Suzanne and her capable staff. Everyone brought their own beverages and we all got to know one another and laugh and talk. The hotel is within walking distance to the town of South Haven and a great base for touring the antique stores and wineries of the area, as well as the nearby town of Saugatuck. It was a perfect, perfect weekend.

We've spent our last two anniversaries at David and Suzanne's lovely inn. They are such gracious hosts who make you feel like you've come home when you walk in the door. We especially loved to sit outside on our private balcony each night. Such a peaceful, private, romantic place to reconnect!

After a hectic business trip in Chicago, my husband and I discovered Carriage House. Not only was the home lovely, but the food was fabulous and we felt very much at home thanks to the gracious hostess and host, Suzanne and David.We had a romantic night there and hope to go back very soon.

This was our second stay at the Carriage House and we couldn't wait to return! Every room (and bathroom) is clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. The atmosphere is welcoming, relaxing and romantic, and David and Suzanne are top-notch hosts. Also, the breakfasts are incredible, and the evening appetizers are delicious and plentiful! We especially love sitting out on the balcony of our room, or on one of the decks overlooking the beautiful view of the harbor. What a great way to get away from it all and enjoy a weekend with your spouse!

Great B&B with so many amenities. Rooms are spacious, decorated with a Victorian flair, ours had a fireplace and a deck overlooking the harbor. The beach is only a block away. Everything is within walking distance. In room massages can be booked and are fabulous. Owner, David, is so very knowledgeable about the area and was able to guide us to everywhere we wanted to go. Many art flavored small towns are within 20-40 min drive and wineries abound at almost every curve in the country roads.

If you want a wonderful weekend for just the two of you Carriage House is the place to go. David and Suzanne are wonderful people - you will feel so welcomed the moment you enter the house. The breakfasts are decadent and Suzanne gives you an overview of what's going on in and around the area that day. We are a mid-20s couple and had a great time there - the weather didn't cooperate but thank goodness we had an entire dvd closet to choose from as well as a corner jacuzzi! Everything was amazing. We can't wait to return!

We had the pleasure of staying @ The Carriage House with 10 friends. What a magnificent weekend was had by all. Of course, the place is beautiful, and the breakfasts are luscious...but our wonderful hosts went above & beyond to make all feel welcome. We had the porch to ourselves for our cocktail party (other guests joined too)...complete with glasses, ice buckets, etc. The complimentary evening appetizers were fantastic (totally different each night). Local restaurant reservations were totally taken care of by David with great success. The entire group is looking forward to a return next winter (as well as individuals returning as couples this summer). My husband and I are also "regulars" for New Year's, too...another great time to visit. Can't wait to return to this lovely establishment! Each season brings a unique experience.

This was our first time here and when leaving my wife and I siad we will definitely come back. We enjoy traveling up and down the Michigan coast and staying at different B&B's and this has to be the most beautiful place we have been. And Dave and Suzanne are the best hosts ever. The rooms are even more luxurious that the pictures and the food was fabulous. Please add the Carriage House to your list of places to visit.

My husband and i have stayed at The Carriage House on multiple occassions/seasons. It is lovely in warm weather(rooms with a balcony are especially nice...a glass of wine and relaxing over the harbor). The decorations at the holidays are stunning; and they also do a lovely New Year's. In general, the food is excellent, and the rooms/ public areas are cozy & beautiful. Finally, David & Suzanne are the consummate hosts. We always look forward to our next stay! P.S..A great gift idea...When we got married a few years ago, we gave gift certificates from the Carriage House to our best man, matron of honor, and our minister as "thank yous"...all were absolutely thrilled!

My husband and I have been to alot of places. This bed and breakfast by far was the nicest place we ever stayed. The food was to die for, the service was friendly and great. It was a really romantic getaway. We were so impressed, we decided to make the Carriage House our annual anniversary stay.

I stayed at the Carriage House with several girlfriends for our winter getaway. David and Suzanne couldn't have been more hospitable. The wonderful breakfasts kept us going all day, and the evening appetizers began our dinner celebrations. We have been meeting at the Carriage House for several years and hope to continue for many, many more.

14 of us enjoyed a romantic weekend getaway for couples January 9th and 10th, 2009. While the snow just kept falling we were cozy and warm with the most attentive service! We had an awesome tour of the Fenn valley Winery and came back to the inn for wonderful appetizers!!! What a delight!!!

We've been 3 times and stayed an extra day each trip. The best B&B we've visited. Love, friendship and relaxation overlooking the harbor...The innkeepers, guests, and the town provide the perfect background to be in love and relax. Beds are comfy and cozy, whirlpools delightful...I could go on & on.

My husband and I could have stayed in our lovely room the whole time but the inn's wonderful food and friendly innkeepers drew us out.

My husband and I have been staying at the Carriage House for multiple years in South Haven and we enjoy ourselves tremendously. The breakfasts are the best we've ever had at a B and B. We love the unique decor in each room and we stay in a different room with each visit. We are looking forward to our January 2009 visit in less than a month!

Romantic get-a-way! Beautiful rooms, excellent food and wonderful service and company. Suzanne and David make you feel like a pampered guest in their home. Have visited twice in the last year and hope to return again real soon. Diane & Tim

Outstanding B&B. The hosts make you feel wonderful. They take time to chat with you and make sure everything meets your needs.It is such a warm and inviting environment. We try to stay at The Carriage House three times a year. As we leave, we look so forward to our next visit.

we spent the BEST new year's we have ever had at this inn (BECAUSE) it is so romantic....we continue to come back because it is a warm, wonderful place to stay (we even brought our 3 grown daughters w/ us). they loved it too! we are returning this new year's :-)

We visit here year after year because this is a wonderful B&B. The inn overlooks the harbour and is steps away from the beach. Service is exceptional and staff very friendly.

we spent the Memorial weekend at the inn and loved it. The food was great, the Inn was warm and welcoming. Our Innkeepers were just wonderful. We enjoyed our time and will return again.

Carriage House is the most romantic getaway we have experienced. The beautiful victorian rooms with fireplaces and hottubs are outstanding! Each time we step into this fantastic place, we feel like we are in a world all of our own. It is just the best!

That is why my husband and I are visiting in January. I love the viewas from every room, and the large jacuzzi tub is wonderful. It is a very romantic Inn.

David and Suzanne are perfect hosts. We can't say enough great things about the Carriage House at the Harbor. Been coming for about 10 years. Elegant, comfortable and yet if you want to bring in a pizza and some beer, that's ok too. We recommend it to everyone. It doesn't hurt that it is located in beautiful South Haven on gorgeous Lake Michigan. You will never go wrong staying here. We guarantee that you will return!

My husband and I love to escape to the Carriage House! It is a wonderful little inn and is perfectly located in town. The food is wonderful...especially the breakfast scones. Yummy!

I have stayes at the Carriage House in October for the last 3 yrs. I have been invited for a Girlfriends B&B weekend and I have had a wonderful time each year. The Innkeepers are fantastic. The food is wonderful. The snacks in the evening are great. We enjoyed it so much that I am taking my husband for a weekend in January/09

Had a very relaxing stay and would like to return to stay longer.

This is our favorite B and B and have visited many times the past several years! Our goal is to eventually be able to say we stayed in EACH room! They are all beautiful and ROMANTIC!

The Carriage House is a wonderful getaway!! Walk along the water, watch the boats from your room....and the food is divine!!!

My wife and I have been visiting the Carriage House for over 10 years. We have tried others B&Bs but keep coming back. We usually visit in the winter. It is a fantastic place to get away from life's stresses and slow down together. Each room is different and well maintained. Overall price is a good value considering the included appetiizers at night and breakfast. Breakfast is great! You will most likely skip lunch that day. Nice table set up for breakfast as well. You can eat with other couples or eat alone. When you meet other couples you typically find they have been coming to the Carriage House for years. We also really enjoy both South Haven and Saugatuck(15 minutes away). Great for walking around and exploring the shops. South Haven has a small used book store that is always our first stop when we arrive in town. They also have a nice DVD library at the inn if you do not want to leave your room.
