Hofsas House

Casual elegance, personal service and traditional hospitality are the three trademarks of this family-owned boutique hotel in the village of Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. It is located just one block from the child-friendly City Park and eight blocks from the white sand of Carmel Beach. Swim in the heated pool and relax in the men's and women's dry saunas. Some of the guest rooms or suites feature a fireplace, private balcony with ocean view over the pine trees, wet bar, or a kitchen with a microwave and refrigerator. There are designated dog-friendly rooms as well. Wake up refreshed each morning and enjoy a continental breakfast before exploring the scenic area. Northern California has numerous adventures waiting to be experienced.

Mission Ranch

With the ocean in the distance, this historic ranch and dance barn was saved from developers by actor and former mayor of Carmel, Clint Eastwood. After donating 11 acres to the town for a park/preserve, Eastwood renovated the farmhouse and bunkhouse and added a few new buildings, including cottages to create a warm and inviting country inn. Decorated with antiques and one-of-a-kind custom pieces, the inn looks out over flower gardens and sheep-studded meadows to the sea and Point Lobos. Rooms offer a variety of amenities from which to select such as Jacuzzi tubs, fireplaces and porches. The piano bar (frequented by Eastwood as a serviceman during the Korean War when he was at Fort Ord) attracts a medley of interesting locals and guests exchanging friendly chit-chat and often joining in song. A restaurant on the property is popular, as well. Walk along the beach roads to Carmel Mission and town.
