Fabulous, Romantic, Cozy & Deliciou

Dawn & Gary are excellent hosts of this beautiful and cozy B&B. Dawn creates a fabulous 4 course breakfast with all homemade goodies and you are truly treated like family in their home. The rooms are perfectly decorated and we had a nice fireplace and Jacuzzi for relaxing. Dawn makes a special sweet treat every afternoon that is just wonderful! They are a delightful couple and made my special Birthday weekend just perfect. Dawn & Gary know the area well and will give you all kinds of tips on great things to do. Their property is amazing, lots of beautiful trees, gardens and pond. It's immaculate, quiet, restful and the best B&B we ever stayed at and we have been all over the world!

Romantic Living Christmas card!

A jewel shining in a mantle of fresh fallen snow! Dawn and Garys B&B, Cameo Rose is a wonderful, magically romantic weekend retreat.Dawn keeps the place immaculate and superbly decorated. She's also an amazing cook, breakfast was excellent! Even under the snow the grounds were amazing to look at. It must look like Eden in the summer. We will definitely come back! Thanks Gary and Dawn for a wonderful weekend!

2nd Visit Surpasses 1st

Cameo Rose impressed us so much this past July that we booked another 3 nights in October. Dawn and Gary were just as gracious as our last visit. We felt as though we were visiting family. Dawn's breakfasts were a delight to both our eyes and our taste buds. Picture perfect! Anyone wishing to be spoiled needs to book a room at Cameo rose. They will be happy they did!!!

Thank you email to hosts Dawn&Gary

Good Morning! Hope this catches you taking a break from cleaning that fabulous house or raking leaves out in your gorgeous yard...you deserve a break! I have finally gotten time to sit and email you because as soon as we got back home, with work, kids and their many activities, I wish I could have stayed longer! (Even Todd, who had told me that week that even though we have stayed at other B&B's before, they "weren't really his "thing""....was glad we had stayed at yours.) You made our week and I'm so glad we spent a little extra for staying on our anniversary...it was worth every penny! I don't know if we had told you the next morning, but the night before we had champagne out in the gazebo by the water fall. We couldn't have planned it any better...it made it very special. It was sort of strange leaving, as when you meet "special" people who you can talk about your faith with, it's just an immediate connection, and we both really enjoyed the conversation we had with you that morning....I felt a bit sad as though we were leaving friends that we won't see again. THANK YOU! And lastly....usually websites, we have found, are usually a bit deceitful in representing hotels, etc....rooms are usually a lot smaller and not as pristine in real life. BUT your website which was impressive on it's own, did not compare to the shear beauty of being there personally! Thank you Thank you Thank you! God Loves You, And So Do We! Lori and Todd

Our new favorite

My sister and I have traveled the world over staying at B&B's - this by far has become our favorite. While only about 30 minutes from where I live, we will be spending many more nights there. The hospitality, food, accommodations and GORGEOUS landscaping where one can really lose themselves in nature - all phenomenal!!!!

wonderful

We spent a week feeling cared for in a comfortable place. Dawn and Gary are attentive while making you feel at ease. The rooms were decadent and spacious. Perfect location for worthwhile galleries, restaurants, Taliesen and hiking. Every day we came back from our travels to relax in the screened in gazebo while listening to the birds and waterfalls. We loved the breakfasts and afternoon treats of home made lemonades and bakeries. We look forward to being able to return.

Roses, Romance,Rememberances

Our 2 night stay at Cameo Rose was so delightful that it felt like we were visiting old friends. This was by far the most elegant breakfast we have ever experienced. Dawn spoiled us with goodies every evening and suggested so many interesting places to visit. We enjoyed walking the trails and lovely gardens. It's fabulous country living located only a few miles from the city. It is now our absolute favorite bed and breakfast.

The Best

I had the good fortune to be able to stay with Dawn and Gary twice. Everything about The Cameo Rose is simply amazing. The rooms are very romantic, the breakfasts are out of this world. Especially the stuffed french toast. And the knowledge of Dawn and Gary about the area and all the activities for you to do while staying with them is first rate. Also you have to sit on the front porch if you stay in the summer and have a glass of lemonade. Trust me on this.

That is about all I can say it is a wonderful little town close to the Cameo however, there is a surprising amount of things to do. Beside the beer tour. Also Mount Horeb.

What a wonderful time --- the BEST!

My wife and I stayed at the Cameo Rose for our 21st Wedding Anniversary. It was an absolute pleasure and one of the best experiences we could have asked for. Dawn is perhaps the nicest person you could imagine meeting. Gary is funny and kind as well. From the moment we walked in, we were spoiled by Dawn. She thinks of EVERYTHING! Each time we departed to walk the wonderful property, visit shops and attractions, eat at some recommended places, or just visit a neighboring town, we had a wonderful time, but we couldn't wait to return to the accomodations that Dawn and Gary have made available. Dawn is a wonderful chef (cook) and the breakfasts that she served were "out of this world" fantastic. We stayed in the large room with so many great accomodations. Dawn and Gary, we hope to see you again real soon. Don't forget to come out and see me (www.bluesteelband.com).

Romantic Anniversary Visit

Cameo Rose continues to be one of our favorite places to unwind. Dawn and Gary have created a haven of luxury while maintaining an atmosphere where one feels like their old friends. The rooms are filled with the best of amenities while maintaining their own distinct character. The Battenburg Lace room is first rate with its whirlpool and king bed. Breakfasts are made with great care and love and are the best that we have had anywhere. Combine this with all of the sites of the area (including the outstanding property on which the inn sits) and you have the perfect escape from the worries of the world.

Picture of romance

Picture this: A big, beautiful Victorian style house at the end of a winding country lane. It's surrounded by pine trees, a gazebo, colorful flowers, and even a pond complete with a waterfall. A walk in the woods or stroll around the grounds is a must any time of the year. Inside the beautifully decorated home, Dawn and Gary make you feel very welcome. They have truly taken care of every detail to make your stay special. The bedrooms are romantic and cozy and breakfast in the dining room doesn't get any better. We always look forward to a return visit.

Romance in Wisonsin at Cameo Rose

My husband and I found the Cameo Rose Victorian Country Inn on the internet, looking for a romantic place to stay near Frank Lloyd Wright's historic home "Taliesin". Being spoiled Californian's, we were not sure we could find "romantic" in Wisconsin, but we found it at the Cameo Rose. This B&B is romantic, delicious, comfortable and fun.

romantic weekend

We spent a weekend at Cameo Rose in January, 2009. We intend to make this an annual getaway each year. The attention to detail by the owners is second to none. We spent two nights there and it was such a relaxing and pleasurable time to get away from our hectic everyday schedules and have some time to our selves. The entire inn is excellant, the rooms well done and the breakfast is not to be believed.

Romantic Getaway

Cameo Rose Victorian Country Inn is a diamond in the rough. It is tucked into farmland near Madison, WI; a beautiful setting with lovely walking/x-country skiing paths through wooded acres. The Badger State biking/hiking trail is within a mile. The lovely Cameo Rose hosts offer a gourmet breakfast, nothing short of incredible. They were always available to meet our needs yet the balance between attention and privacy was perfect. They truly made us feel special on our Romantic getaway! Thank you Dawn & Gary!

Romantic getaway

We are visitied Cameo Rose many times, and part ofthe fun in going there is seeing what updates Dawn and Gary have made, as they are always improving their B&B. In our last visit we experienced the new pond with waterfalls on their grounds. If you want peace and quiet, a romantic place with a lot of personal touches, the most delicious homemade breakfast, and the warmest hospitality, this is the place.

Most Romantic Getaway

We stayed at the Cameo Rose Victorian Country Inn and found it to be one of the most romantic and lovely B&B's we've ever visited. Gary and Dawn, our host and hostess were absolutely delightful! Romantic Cameo Rose

My husband and I stayed at the Cameo Rose in January to celebrate our anniversary. The breakfast was great and the hosts were very friendly. We enjoyed our walk through the snow-covered woods and vowed to return in the fall and have a glass of wine at the little table and chairs we saw in the woods.

My husband and I had not had a vacation in two years. We truly needed to be alone together away from home and all of its demands. We found the Cameo Rose, of Belleville, WI, online. We liked the sound of its location on 100+ acres near Madison. As we drove up, the quiet beauty of the area was very appealing. The Victorian style of the Inn was enhanced with beautiful floral gardens, gazebos, and a lovely view. The hosts greeted us warmly, talked about the great things to do in the area and showed us to our lower level suite. It was an inviting and cozy place for us to relax and enjoy each other. There was a fabulous double spa tub in a separate room off the living room. After settling in, our hosts brought iced tea and freshly made brownies. We spent two nights relaxing, sightseeing, and exploring the area. The hosts, the Bahrs, served us deliciously decadent breakfasts each morning. Everything was done with pampering and relaxation in mind. We loved our time there.

We stayed here for our anniversary and had a wonderful, relaxing time. Our hosts were very attentive and recommended a super nearby restaurant in Belleville. The inn was very secluded and well away from the highway. If you like the central Wisconsin countryside and getting away from the crowds, this place is for you. We even watched a movie one night on our laptop computer outside on the front porch swing. And we found the time to explore the shops and restaurants in nearby New Glarus, and we even popped in to Madison for seafood one night. We had an enjoyable stay, made even better by the fabulous breakfasts and wonderful personalities of our hosts.

Cameo Rose - Full of Romance

Everything about Cameo Rose is romantic from the decor, the lighting, and the soft bathrobes inside to the gazebos, flowers and lighting outside. The surrounding countryside is even romantic. Every year we go away for a holiday weekend as our Christmas gift to each other. December 2007 we chose Cameo Rose and it surpassed our expectations. Wisconsin just had a snow storm and the Inn looked like a picture from Currier and Ives. The house was decorated with Christmas trees and decorations that made the house glow. Our innkeepers Dawn and Gary were excellent and so was the gourmet breakfasts they served. While we were having breakfast in the quait dinning room-which is surrounded by windows-it started to snow! It was so beautiful-we felt like we were in a snow globe. It was so special and so was our weekend. We will definately go back-maybe next time in the summer to use the bike trails right out the back door of Cameo Rose. We have stayed in over 15 B & B's and this one is by far one of the best!

We have made this exceptioanl B&B our Valentine's Day weekend refuge every year for the last 7 years. Spending those quiet moments alone in a nice hot jacuzzi, or in front of a warm fireplace will bring on those romantic feelings that come when you finally get a little time alone, for just for the two of you. Once you've discovered the beautiful countryside, the great restaurants, and fun shopping areas within just a short ride - you'll know where to spend your afternoons. But, for goodness sake, whatever you do, don't miss Dawn's magnificent breakfast. Multiple courses to please even the most demanding taste buds. Don't miss the chance to make a "romantic memory" for the both of you - You won't regret it!

InnSide Tip - Restaurants in the area
There are quite a few to choose from in the area and Dawn can guide you. If you ask her, she will even make the reservations for you in advance. But, if you get the chance I would highly recommend Quivey's Grove on the west side of Madison - terrific food and very quaint atmosphere - very romantic - she'll love it. I would suggest you request the private roome for two in the main house. Or, if there is another couple they can accomidate four in that same room. The appetizers, entree's, and desserts are all great - it is tough to go wrong whatever you choose. Enjoy!!

This is a wonderful inn! It was custom built to be a B&B, so it has several different types of rooms. We stayed in the room with the jacuzzi and the fireplace. The bathroom was as big as the bedroom! The decor is charming and there are several places within the house and property where you can be alone with your significant other, such as the trails behind the house, in the gazebo or the porch. The location of Cameo Rose is ideal because it is remote and peaceful yet it's close to New Glarus and Madison. The gourmet breakfast is as wonderful as they say, that is worth the visit in and of itself. One of my favorite touches was how they would surprise us with fresh baked treats waiting for us in the room.

Excellence--romantic, relaxing

Cameo Rose is a definite "must" for B&B's if you're looking for a "romantic" one. We stayed in June of 2008 and it was perfection. The room we chose had a huge comfy bed, gas fireplace, and double whirlpool (a "must have" for us). Delicious breakfasts, gracious, helpful, non-intrusive hosts, great location to "get to know each other" again.

Romantic Anniversary Retreat

How can I begin to convey the marvelous time my husband and I had at Cameo Rose? Could it be Dawn's assurance that we'd want for nothing on our first anniversary? Or maybe the phenomenal suite prepared for us? The lounging in front of the fire? Handmade treats and sparkling conversation in the evening? Dawn's UNIMAGINABLY INCREDIBLE gourmet breakfasts? All these were terrific; but the thing that really captured our hearts was the kindness and the inclusion we felt while we were there. Gary and Dawn go well out of their way to make their home feel like home to you. This is our anniversary destination forever! We love you, Dawn and Gary! Bonnie and Chris Pilewski

Romantic Retreat

This is one of the loveliest Bed and Breakfasts we've visited. The Cameo Rose Inn is a quiet retreat on acres of property where you can get away from it all. Dawn and Gary are the quintessential hosts. The food was fabulous!!! And there were so many extra special touches--cookies and hot cider when we arrived, the luxurious robes in each room, the attention to detail in the decorating, a special note after our stay. We were so pleased, we purchased a gift certificate for our daughter and son-in-law to stay.

Romantic Inns

Cameo Rose is the most romantic bed and breakfast ever!!! The rooms are large and decorated with an eye for detail! Nothing is overlooked! The innkeepers, Dawn and Gary, treat guests like royalty. Each room comes with the plushest, cozy robes and the finest products for your use. The beds are extremely comfortable and laden with beautiful linens. You hate to get out of bed in the morning, but you know you have to or you will miss the most wonderful, gourmet breakfast that you could ever imagine!! Oh, my goodness! You will be treated to an elegant, yet cozy breakfast, that will delight your taste buds! Dawn and Gary take great pains to cater to your every whim. You will want to take a romantic walk through the woods after the breakfast. You can get lost on their beautiful property, but then you'll find a bench to sit and view the countryside. The view is spectacular, in keeping with the whole romantic, country inn! You will love it!

Romantic

The rural setting of quietness at the end of a rural road, darkness of the exterior, allowing the opportunity to view the skies and landscape, lend to a romantic and peaceful stay. The warm victorian decor of the rooms and sitting area are lovely. The snacks and AM breakfast served in the pleasant decor and with a warm friendly spirit, lend to it being such a special event. You can enjoy the public sitting areas or the peace and quiet of your comfortable room at any time. It is a perfect spot, one I enjoy so much. Sincerely, Charleen Studnicka

My fiancee and I stayed at Cameo Rose 2 years ago for Valentine's Day. Dawn and Gary treated us like family and the place was gorgeous. Our room was gorgeous and wonderful. We cannot wait to go back in the spring or summer to see the flowers in bloom and be able to walk the trails around the house.

Romantic Escape

My wife and I had a wonderful time at the Cameo Rose. We enjoyed the Victorian Cottage Suite, which is comprised of the entire downstairs. The oversized and extra deep whirlpool tub was a wonderful setting for romance, and the fireplace was the perfect place to enjoy each other’s company. Every morning, we were treated to a five course breakfast that would make chefs around the world jealous. Dawn and Gary (the owners) were terrific hosts, walking the fine balance of offering a personal touch, without being overbearing. We’ve stayed at a number of B&B’s and this is one of the best. The only drawback was not having a coffee pot in the room.

My girlfriend and I spent the Fourth of July weekend at Cameo Rose. The landscape and the house are wonderful. The hosts are charming. The food is spectacular - one of the best breakfasts that I can remember. I never go back to the same place twice, having traveled the world, but I think we may make our Fourth of July visits routine. If I can do that, you can at least check it out!

Romantic

My husband and I have stayed at many B&B's in our travels, and Cameo Rose is our all-time favorite. The rooms are comfortable and cozy, the inn's public spaces are homey and inviting, the grounds are truly spectacular, from gorgoeous gardens in the spring and summer to pure white snow on their hillsides in the winter. Dawn's breakfasts are gourmet, and include such perfect touches as homemade jams for which Dawn used berries picked on the property. The location is ideal, combining the peace and quiet of a rural setting with close proximity to the world-class restaurants and cultural amenities of Madison. Best of all, Dawn and Gary are the most lovely, warm, and helpful innkeepers we've had the pleasure to know. We have stayed there many times, and always have a perfect time. We can't recommend it highly enough. To have a romantic getaway, you need to be able to feel compeltely relaxed and pampered, and Cameo Rose delivers every time.

Wonderful getaway from Madison

My beau and I were looking for a place not too far from Madison for our anniversary celebration, and luckily for us, we found Cameo Rose, just 15 miles from town! Dawn was a very thoughtful host and took really great care of us from the moment we stepped into her house! She spent lengths to ensure we knew what was available, and made sure we were well taken care of at restaurants we visited. This is a fantastic place with wonderful interior design and nature view. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway with wonderful food, Cameo Rose is exactly what you're looking for. With a 4 course breakfast enough to fill you up till dinner, wonderful home-made cider in the day and evening desserts, I can't put into words how much I enjoyed my stay. For cycling enthusiasts, this inn is perfectly situated in between 3 different state trails! In winter, snow shoes are available for you to enjoy the wonderful snowfall.

My husband wanted to do something special for me for mother's day, so he took me to the Cameo Rose B&B. What a sweet special way to celebrate Mother's Day.
