Secret Garden

Mysteries abound in this romantic retreat for two. Enjoy a relaxing bath in the antique clawfoot tub, or open the glass door to reveal an adjoining room with a spa tub, complete with fluffy robes and wrap-around privacy windows. After a soothing bath, slip into your king size featherbed and drift off to sleep in front of the flickering electric fire.

Starry Night

Fall asleep under the stars in this romantic room. Three large skylights frame a private view of the heavens, perfect for lovers and dreamers. Bubble your cares away in your very own private outdoor spa tub. Then relax in the king featherbed in front of the fire, sharing secrets with someone you love. This room is the smallest in the house-there is no closet or armoire, and very little room for luggage. Yet in spite of its tiny dimensions (or perhaps because of them?), it remains our most popular room in the house for returning guests.

Rates: $235 - $429

While this room is inside the main house, stepping through the door will feel like you've traveled back in time to romantic Tuscany.

Terra is the Italian word for earth or land, another essential element when growing grapes. The earth, or terrior (French) gives wine much of its unique flavor.

Rates: $299 - $399

Aria is Italian for air, essential for growing wine grapes and keeping people alive and well. Each evening, air from the ocean flows up the Napa Valley, cooling the grape vines and helping them ripen. The cool evening air is also a favorite for locals and visitors—there is nothing quite like walking into town for dinner at the end of a sunny day and feeling the soft, cool breezes.

Rates: $249 - $349

Sole is the Italian word for sun, another essential element for growing wine grapes. The sunny weather in Napa helps the vines grow vigorously and makes the grapes very happy. We've noticed that this abundance of sunshine also tends to make the people here happy, too!

Rates: $169 - $299

Private Cottage

Decorated with French country décor and fine tile work, the entrance is framed by jasmine blossoms. Enjoy the Jacuzzi spa tub, the flickering fire, or lose track of time in the king sized featherbed. The Cottage is the most private of all of our rooms, located in a separate building on the back of the property, across the parking lot of the Original Inn. This room has a spectacular Dolby Digital DVD movie system hidden within the canopy bed. *extra persons $40 per night

Rates: $265 - $499

Mysteries abound in this romantic retreat for two. Enjoy a relaxing bath in the antique clawfoot tub. After a soothing bath, slip into your king size featherbed and drift off to sleep in front of the flickering electric fire. This room is right off our main dining room. While it does have a European-style double door (for extra privacy), you will see (and hear) our other guests, especially if it's around breakfast time. This room is larger than many of our other rooms, but we discount it significantly because it opens onto our main dining area. Not suitable for light sleepers, but a great bargain if you don't mind being "in the center of all the action"!

Rates: $225 - $395

Acqua is Italian for water, essential for growing wine grapes. Water nourishes the soul, and is a big part of our Acqua rooms. Each spacious Acqua bathroom features an incredible spa tub, as well as lovely vanities and separate 2-person, walk-in showers. The bedroom features a romantic king-sized featherbed, as well as a small sitting area at the side of the bed. Enjoy the romantic flames from the flickering gas fireplace, or watch a movie on the 50" HDTV/DVD system.

Rates: $299 - $499

•We run a full pre-payment in advance when we receive your reservation request. •Applicable taxes/service charges are automatically added to your invoice. •For guests staying 1 to 4 nights, NOT traveling with others: In the unlikely event you must shorten your stay, check out early, change your dates of stay, or cancel with less than fourteen (14) days notice, please understand that we must ask you to take responsibility for the cost of your entire reservation. If we are able to re-sell all or part of your room(s), we will credit you this amount, less a $25 processing fee. •For guests staying 5+ nights OR traveling w/guests staying in other rooms: You must cancel at least 30 days prior to avoid being responsible for the entire cost of their stay. Group bookings (more than 9 room nights total): 60 days advance cancellation required. •A $25 fee is applied to cover charges from the credit card company if you cancel *prior* to the above periods. •Regretfully, we do not have a bellman or elevator. Since you carry your own luggage to your room, you may want to pack several smaller bags instead of one large one, as they will be easier for you to transport up and down the stairs (we have stairs going up to both the main floor (from the parking lot) and to the second floor). •Most important: We want you to have a great time in Napa! If there is anything we can do to make your stay more special, please let us know. :)

Historic Interest

The Main House (1556 Polk St) was originally built in 1874 as Ladies Hall, for Napa College. In the 1880s, a large Queen Anne addition was added. Architect for this addition was Luthor Turton, Napa's premiere architect of the 1890s-1910s. Turton was a graduate of Napa College; it is thought that the Ladies Hall addition was one of his first commissions. Cabernet House (1301 Jefferson St) was built by E W Doughty as a home for his family, and as an example of his craftsmanship as a builder. Doughty was Napa's "mansion builder", responsible for many of the Napa's Landmark buildings and churches. Another example of his work is the Noyes Mansion, current home of the Wine Spectator Magazine, just 2 blocks away.
