Circa 1854. Known as “the house with generous porches,” this is one of the town’s largest residences, built with Georgian architecture by the owner of the sawmill. This elegant inn has working fireplaces and a parlor with a grand player piano. Elaborate upscale amenities in the romantic suites and guest bedrooms include robes, flowers, chocolates and luxurious linens. Whirlpool tubs, a private balcony and second-floor verandas are also featured. Mouth-watering dishes like peaches and kiwi with amaretto cream sauce, apple crisp pancakes and country bacon, and eggs Benedict souffle are enjoyed in the fireside dining room or in the solarium overlooking gardens and a fish pond. A waterfall and gazebo highlight lush landscaping.

About Our Rooms

The Lindsey Room

A large first floor room with a beautiful and comfortable King Sleigh bed. It has a large private in-room bath with a tub/shower combination and a beautiful non-wood burning fireplace to enjoy summer or winter. Handicap accessible.

The Honeymoon Suite

Unforgettable romantic suite with King canopy bed, luxurious mattress, and air jetted whirlpool for two! Separate tile and glass shower. Private balcony overlooking gardens, the town and winter "water view." Large armoire with TV, DVD, VCR and movies. In-room refrigerator with beverages and snacks. Fantastic non-wood burning fireplace can be enjoyed year round.

“Escape and Energize”

Just came back from a lovely weekend at the Blue Max. Nestled in the little town of Chesapeake City, Maryland we found the inn to be the perfect place to get away from everyday stress and to energize our bodies and souls. Christine the innkeeper is delightful and the room was immaculate and exquisitely furnished. Really loved the fireplace. The main street in Chesapeake City is lined with little shops and wonderful restaurants. Highly recommend a visit.

BOTTOM LINE: I would stay here again.
