Friendly, comfortable, lovely setti

We love staying at Black's Fort Inn when we come to ride the Virginia Creeper Trail & visit the Barter Theatre!!! The innkeepers are very hospitable, & our breakfast was COMPLETELY made from scratch & delicious!!! The home is very nice, but the atmosphere isn't "stuffy". We will definitely return again & again!!! Love it!!!

Best ever B&B!

We only got to stay one night at the Black's Fort Inn but it was so relaxing we felt like we were there much longer. Cindy is the greatest and just pampered us like family. It was like visiting an ole friend in a beautiful, comfortable, romantic home. It will always be remembered and we will be going there again for sure! Thanks Cindy! Love you.

Wonderful retreat!

We spent two nights the first of October, 2015 with Cindy and Jimmy Patterson at Blacks Fort Inn. The breakfasts were awesome and we ate so much we did not eat again until dinner time. Cindy also had warm cookies and a hot drink when we came in from a rainy ride on the Virginia Creeper Trail.Beautiful pastoral setting that we enjoyed from her back porch looking at her Gypsy Cobb horses frolic in the pasture. You won't be disappointed if you stay there when you go to Abingdon. Marge and Larry Henize

Fabulous experience

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Black's Fort Inn. The rooms are clean and comfortable, decorated beautifully. The location was very convenient to town while offering gorgeous views and privacy. As far as the food, well, you just have to go experience it for yourself to see just how amazing Cindy is in the kitchen. I have some pretty decent cooking/baking skills myself and tend to be hard to please but everything was so delicious, I have nothing but high praise. I am looking forward to my next visit!

Pampered, rested & recharged!

My wife and I spent four nights during the Memorial Day holiday at Black's Fort Inn, and everything was wonderful. The location is so peaceful and relaxing on a small farm with a beautiful pond, waterfall, babbling stream, horses, chickens, ducks, geese, dogs and cats. We stayed in the Waterfall Suite, which has two bedrooms, each with sofas, private bath and a full kitchen. Plenty of room and very comfortable. It is located just outside of town, and a 1-2 minute drive put us anywhere we wanted to be. Cindy Patterson is the sweetest, kindest person you will ever meet. It was like staying with a dear friend. She is a wonderful cook, and the breakfasts were so tasty and plentiful, we never needed lunch. Cindy is a horse lover, and she spent time with us and her other guests and allowed us to meet and interact with each one. We highly recommend Black's Fort, and will definitely stay there on our next visit.

Welcome Home

We loved our stay at Black's Fort. We were greeted like family returning home after a long time away. The home was comfortable and extremely clean. We slept soundly in our room, and even opened the window and enjoyed the sound of the horses gently walking through the fallen autumn leaves. Cindy's breakfasts were amazing and we looked forward to her culinary creations each morning! The inn was a very short distance from the Virginia Creeper trailhead, and it was an easy ride to jump on the trail and start our day of riding. Cindy even allowed us to roll our bikes through her living room and store them on the second floor balcony. We will definitely return.
