Circa 1870. This inn derives its name from a ship that smuggled liquor into Newport during the days of Prohibition. The inn is located in the downtown area and within walking distance of the harbor and famed mansions of Newport. In the guest rooms, English country fabrics and coordinating curtains and wallcoverings complete the romantic look. For those celebrating a special occasion, the innkeeper offers rooms with whirlpool tubs and fireplaces. Six of the rooms include a private bath. Two other rooms are joined by a bathroom, creating an ideal family suite. One of the rooms includes a queen bed, the other includes two twin beds. The continental-plus breakfasts include cereals, granola, fresh fruit, croissants, muffins, coffee cake and one hot entree.
