Circa 1880. Built in the late 19th century for travelers passing through Crawford Notch, this historic Victorian Inn was named by the Zumsteins, its proprietors known for providing fine accommodations, musical enjoyment and outstanding food. Today's innkeepers continue this hospitable commitment offering creative gourmet cuisine in the dining room and casual fare in the Black Bear Pub. Elegantly decorated guest bedrooms are non-smoking, some feature brass beds, antiques, stained glass, spa tub Jacuzzis and a fireplace. Novice and experienced chefs alike enjoy learning tricks of the trade at A Taste of the Mountains Cooking School.
