Berne is a unique town which can be found about 35 miles south of Fort Wayne and 110 miles northeast of Indianapolis. The reason why I mentioned that Berne is unique is because the town has a very strong Swiss influence since more than a century and a half ago, this place was inhabited by Swiss Mennonites. Swiss heritage is still apparent in the original architecture which can be found in the alluring Wabash Valley. Along with the quaint Berne bed and breakfast inns are the specialty shops and more than a dozen other attractions such as the huge Mennonite Church which is considered one of the largest in the country. The Swiss Heritage Village is something you don't want to miss when visiting Berne with its Amish farms and one of the finest golf courses in the state of Inidiana. By Historic Schug House Inn.
35 miles south of Fort Wayne in Adams County in the state of Indiana is the city of Berne. This specific area where Berne is located together with the other surrounding communities is an area where there is huge Amish population. If you have plans for a relaxing getaway, consider Berne and stay at any of the Berne bed and breakfast. Watch the horse drawn Amish buggies and old Swiss architecture with the very beautiful Wabash Valley as the backdrop. For those who love shopping, Berne has specialty stores which sell antiques and other unique items that can only be found in this city. One of the largest Mennonite Churches in America is found here in Berne. By Historic Schug House Inn.
