Circa 1851. This 16-room 1851 Federal Victorian stands on an acre in the heart of Belfast, a historic harbor community with roots in shipbuilding. Mullioned windows, pumpkin pine floors and carved mantels are some of the many period features of the inn. A circular staircase leads to the four guest bedrooms, each appointed with period pieces. A three-course country breakfast is served daily on the side porch, weather permitting. It includes items such as fruit cup with yogurt or granola, freshly baked muffins, hot breads and a hot entrée of either eggs, pancakes, crepes or sausage. Locally grown berries and produce are used in season. After breakfast relax on the porch or head into Belfast to explore the many art galleries and shops. Take a ride on the vintage Belfast and Moosehead Train or arrange for a boat to explore the islands in the Penobscot Bay or take a drive and explore the nearby lighthouses.
