These Bed and Breakfast innkeepers have had a vision for innkeeping that began more than 20 years ago. Many of them have set the standard for the best of the bed and breakfast industry with their passion, hospitality and love of their guests. We pay tribute to these outstanding innkeepers and their longevity.

Steve Parisi, Coutry Road Lodge B&B, Warrensburg, N. Y.
A Brief History of Life As An Innkeeper - I opened the doors Thanksgiving 1974. 4 small rooms, two upstairs (under the eaves) with twin beds, Two downstairs, one with a 3/4 and one with a double. One bath up and one bath down, which I also shared. When I had a full house, I slept on the enclosed back porch on a cot. In 1984, a three-room addition gave me my own bedroom and a bathroom! With some wall changes all of the bedrooms became a little larger and all went to doubles. In 1988, with that new bedroom and bath, I added a wife, and with Sandi's enthusiasm things really progressed. The following year we added a large addition for ourselves, which included a breakfast room for guests and permitted expanding the existing guest living room. By 1990 a second bathroom upstairs gave us two rooms with private bath. Queen size beds came next. (Just hearing the desires of the customer!) In 1996 we moved the whole house 300 feet (the Hudson River wanted it) and created all new landscaping. 1996 was also the first time we went up on the web, and as you all know, that was just the beginning! In 2005 we added another bathroom downstairs, giving all rooms private bath. It has been a wonderful ride, guests from all over the United States and the World. Many good friends have been made and the business has allowed us to live on this wonderful 40-acre property on the Hudson River in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. As long as our health allows us to keep up the property, we will be in the B&B business!
Relax, enjoy your guests, have fun.
