Description
Two carved wooden eagles mark the entrance to the Cascade Mountain Inn. Surrounded by scenic farmland, the inn's location in the foothills of the North Cascades, offers splendid mountain views. Five acres of grounds include green lawns, an orchard of cherry, pear, apple and filbert trees and a three-acre pasture for the innkeepers' photogenic black and white Clydesdales. Guest rooms feature some antiques and most have either a view of Sauk Mountain or the foothills of the North Cascades. Creme brulee French toast, or crab and Swiss cheese quiche are house specialties, as well as fresh raspberry muffins. In January and February, bald eagles soar above the inn on their way to the nearby Skagit River where a 1,500-acre eagle preserve attracts up to 300 eagles. The tulip fields of La Conner are close by as well as a multitude of outdoor activities.
