Williamsburg Sampler B&B Inn

Description

Although this 18th-century-style home was built in the year of the bicentennial, it captures the early American spirit of Colonial Williamsburg. The rooms serve as wonderful replicas of an elegant Colonial home with antiques, pewter and framed American and English samplers found throughout the inn. Curl up with a book in the 1827 armchair in the Tavern Reading Room, exercise in the Carriage House Fitness Center or be entertained in the Billiard Parlor with a dartboard and 60-inch TV screen. Bedchambers and suites feature fireplaces, TV, a rooftop garden and boast king-size, four-poster beds. The innkeepers term the morning meal at the Rooster's Den a "Skip Lunch" (R) Breakfast, an apt description of the colossal menu. After this wonderful meal, head out for a day exploring historic Williamsburg.

This exquisite home is rich in warmth and atmosphere, so be prepared to be at "home and relax in style." When officially proclaimed by Virginia's Governor as "Inn of the Year in the Commonwealth of Virginia," the Governor stated, "I call its significance to the attention of all our citizens." (Note: No other Virginia B&B has been so honoered.)
