Description
Circa 1853. This early Victorian villa is located in the Shenandoah Valley against the backdrop of the Allegheny Mountains. Both the first and second floors offer wraparound verandas. The rustic den and one guest room comprise the oldest portions of the inn, built around 1780. Dinners are available by advance reservation (Friday and Saturday). An old barn and babbling creek are on the grounds. Lexington, the Virginia Horse Center, Natural Bridge, the Blue Ridge Parkway and antiquing are all nearby.

Historic Interest |
Original room built in 1780 as a trading post for settlers coming through Goshen Pass. House completed in 1853 by William Teter, who invented the pull window shade. The house was passed down to his daughter, Pearl Teter, principal of the Goshen Schools. She married Joseph Wood who was the Goshen trainmaster, and they hosted Eleanor Roosevelt during her visit to the area in 1935. Historic Awards: National Register (Applied).
