Circa 1895. Situated just two blocks from the oceanfront, this historic Victorian cottage with a two-story wraparound porch is furnished with period antiques and reproductions. The verandas boast inviting rockers to overlook the sculptured hedges and flower beds that accent the landscaped grounds. Watch a DVD in the Great Room. Comfortable guest bedrooms exude a cheery ambiance with colorful handmade quilts and pleasant amenities. A bountiful breakfast may include honeydew melon with chocolate-dipped strawberries, quiche with bacon, southern-style biscuits garnished with red globe grapes, strawberry bread, vanilla bread, orange juice, Kona coffee and tea. Beach chairs, towels, umbrellas and boogie boards are provided for excursions to the nearby sandy beach and boardwalk. Fish from the pier, only three blocks away.

Built in 1895, it is one of two Victorian cottages still in existence in Virginia Beach. In 1916 it was bought by Lillian Barclay who began accepting paying guests in 1917.
