Description
Circa 1844. Two meticulously restored homes in the lively historic district have been combined to offer old-world elegance and modern convenience. The main house was built for Thomas Jefferson Wertenbaker, son of Thomas Jefferson's librarian at the University of Virginia. The smaller house, known as the cottage, was once a boarding house. Browse through a pictorial history in the library of the extensive renovations. Another scrapbook includes detailed descriptions of the inn’s antique furnishings. Relax over evening wine and cheese. Stay in one of the guest bedrooms with a whirlpool bath, fireplace and canopy or sleigh bed. A Grand Suite also includes a living room. Enjoy a large continental breakfast on the garden patio or veranda.
