Circa 1848. Built before the Civil War, this large Maryland "T" house has been restored and furnished in the Federal style. Period antiques, artwork and comfortable furniture create a casually charming and romantic atmosphere. Relax by the fireside in the Garden Room, or read in the front parlor. A brick courtyard with three-tier fountain and rose gardens offer a peaceful serenity. Delightful guest bedrooms feature an assortment of pleasing details from brass beds, window seats and dormers to views of the bay. Warm hospitality and elegant touches are part of this historic treasure on the Eastern Shore. A hearty southern breakfast sure to satisfy is served in the dining room. Assateague Island National Seashore and Wildlife Refuge is a short drive.

The homes were originally built in 1848 by Nathaniel Smith and Joseph Kenney. The gentlemen served in the Civil War together, and ended up marrying sisters.
