Description
Circa 1790. Built 14 years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence, this inn was originally located on a 200-acre maple sugar bush. Surrounded by the Green Mountains in the quaint Stowe area, the scenic setting is inviting with relaxing and enjoyable activities. This upscale, classic Vermont inn is furnished with antiques that accent the warm décor. Gather by the fire for conversation and refreshments or on the three-tier deck by the hot tub. Stay in an air-conditioned guest bedroom with a European-style bathroom, down comforter or vintage quilt and thick robes. A three-course candlelight breakfast may include favorites like baked eggs in ham crisps, Round Barn pancakes, buttery skillet apples with a taste of Ben & Jerry's or maple-glazed poached pears with raspberry sauce. The Maple Leaf Cottage and Snowshoe Loft, complete with pillow-top King-size mattresses and gas fireplaces, offer more private, romantic accommodations.
Location: Country and Mountains. Inkeepers Notes
