Description

Circa 1893. The Governor's House in Hyde Park is a centerpiece of the quiet Village of Hyde Park, Vermont, just nine miles from Stowe. This historic 1893 mansion offers modern comfort with the gracious elegance of an earlier time. Recently restored and decorated with period furnishings to reflect its Georgian and Victorian architecture this B&B boasts spectacular woodwork, a Vermont marble foyer and drinking fountain, mirrored mantelpieces and original gas lighting fixtures. Full English afternoon tea is served in the library or on the pillared portico with a mountain view. Guest bedrooms feature fireplaces and antique clawfoot tubs. Pleasing treats include Toll House cookies, Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream or hot chocolate at bedtime. Small private events, intimate weddings and the romantic elopement special are popular.
