Description

Circa 1848. The Arlington Inn is one of Vermont's finest examples of Greek Revival architecture. Guest rooms are thoughtfully decorated in a traditional style with period antiques suiting the elegance of the inn. Gamaliel's room offers a four-poster canopy bed, fireplace and large bath, while Sylvester's Study features a handsome fireplace, sitting area, maple ceiling and a private porch. Suites with a two-person Jacuzzi and fireplace are very popular. Breakfast is served in the solarium with green lawn and flower gardens stretching out before you. In the evening, candlelight dinners are available in the inn's fine dining room. Norman Rockwell once used the carriage house as a studio. Nearby activities include fishing, canoeing, downhill and cross-country skiing, snow shoeing and hiking. Ask about the Inn's packages; some include a delightful champagne picnic.

This property has been featured in San Diego Times, Bon Appetit, Country Inns, Vermont Life, Gourmet, New York Magazine, Yankee Travel Guide.

Location: Country and Village.

Inkeepers Notes

Welcome! The Arlington Inn is a Unique and Special Country Inn that brings you back to a time of Elegance and Style. Our Historic Vermont Inn is decorated with beautiful antiques and offers 18 luxurious accommodations. This gracious Village Estate, comprised of three houses and a restored country barn, sits on 3+ acres of beautiful gardens featuring a gazebo and water garden. Guests are our first priority and we provide the perfect setting for an elegant romantic getaway, wedding, honeymoon or hideaway. Gracious hosts and innkeepers, Elizabeth and husband Eric Berger, and their friendly, helpful staff are eager to make your visit enjoyable. Your greeting at the inn will be warm and cheerful. The innkeepers and their staff are pleased to help map out itineraries for shopping, walking, biking or driving. They also can point you to great local attractions, antique shops and out-of-the-way sights. Eric, also our Chef, will start your morning with a full, cooked-to-order country breakfast, preparing you for your day's activities. Upon your return, you'll find delightful homemade afternoon refreshments for your enjoyment. The evening offers a fabulous four-course candlelight dinner complimented by the Inn's extensive wine list. Nestled in the Green Mountains of Southern Vermont between Bennington and Manchester, the Inn is close enough to all activities and far enough away from the hustle and bustle to have a quiet, relaxing, and romantic visit. We hope you will be able to join us for the many events we host throughout the season.
