Circa 1923. This Craftsman-style home is listed as a Texas Historic Landmark and was built by Edward Stein, the designer of the Gillespie County Courthouse as well as many other local buildings. There are porches filled with wicker furnishings for those who wish to relax. Guest rooms are decorated with antiques and reproductions. The Bluebonnet Suite includes a fireplace, antique clawfoot tub/shower and a vintage refrigerator in the small kitchen. Southern-style breakfasts are served on tables set with antique china, silver and fresh flowers. The home is located about seven blocks from the main shopping area, which also offers museums, art galleries and wine tasting rooms. The Lyndon Johnson State and National Park are 16 miles away and there are several wineries in the area.
