DescriptionCirca 1903. You'll remember far more than the Alamo when you stay in this Queen Anne Victorian compound in historic San Antonio. A Swiss cabinetmaker built the first part of the structure for his family in 1903. Recent renovations earned this home the coveted San Antonio Conservation Society Plaque. Four houses cluster around a beautiful garden and each has suites with high ceilings, pine floors and balconies. The inn has a total of eight suites to choose from on the premises. After breakfast, guests may head out to tour the city. The inn is five minutes from the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center, two minutes from The San Antonio River Walk and 10 minutes from the Alamo. Inkeepers NotesArbor House Inn and suites was opened in October, 1995, but the history of the four historic houses and the mercantile building which now makes up the inn began about 1900, when a Swiss cabinet maker built these buildings for himself and his extended family. The renovations have been awarded the San Antonio Conservation Society Plaque, achieved for excellence in historic renovations. The four houses are clustered around a lush garden oasis in downtown San Antonio. The fifth building extends the property through to St. Mary's Street. The central location, one block from San Antonio's famed Riverwalk, two blocks from the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center and one block from LaVillita, places Arbor House in prime location for both business travelers and tourists. Guest suites and rooms have been individually decorated with furnishings and artwork from a myriad of sources. You will never stay in any hotel as unique, intimate and convenient. Each house has only three suites, featuring high ceilings, pine floors, private baths, balconies and the conveniences of central air and heat, state-of-the-art phone system, color TVs with remote control. The inn has six rooms with private baths individual heat/AC controls, TVs, phones, a common room where coffee is served and a beautiful area which may be used for meetings of 30 people. Each morning, a small basket arrives at your door with a continental breakfast inside. Parking is provided.
