Description

Although it was built in the mid-1970s, this mansion has the appearance of a great Antebellum estate. The inn is surrounded by more than 200 acres and offers views of the Great Smoky Mountains. The inn's interior, as well as its reputation for hospitality and service, earned it a four-diamond award. Country Inns magazine and Waverly chose Christopher Place's Stargazer as the 1995 Room of the Year. Each of the guest rooms is decorated with a different theme in mind. The Roman Holiday room is a romantic retreat with an iron canopy bed draped with a sheer, dramatic canopy. There is a fireplace and a whirlpool tub for two. Papaw's Suite is a rustic room with a hand-carved bed and hot tub. In addition to the inn's transfixing decor, guests are further pampered with on-site tennis courts, a sauna, swimming pool, billiards and library. As well, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge aren't far away.
