DescriptionCirca 1890. In the center of the historic district overlooking prestigious South Battery, this turreted Queen Anne was built as a wedding gift from a father to his daughter. It is one of the area's oldest bed & breakfast inns, offering Southern hospitality and a romantic heritage. Tiffany stained-glass windows, crystal chandeliers and English oak woodwork are accented by fresh flowers, Oriental rugs and family heirlooms. Traditional antiques furnish the elegant guest bedrooms. Enjoy a deluxe continental breakfast in the courtyard or oval dining room. The famous arched piazza features rockers that invite relaxation while gazing beyond the century-old live oaks to the harbor. Low country afternoon tea is served with sherry and regional delicacies. This property has been featured in Innsider, Southern Accent, Gourmet, Southern Living. Location: City/Urban and Charleston Historic District. Inkeepers NotesCharleston prides itself in Southern civility, romance and hospitality. There is no better reflection of those qualities than Two Meeting Street Inn. In a city filled with magnificent homes, no other mansion in the city is more frequently admired, photographed or captured on an artist's canvas. Fresh flowers, Oriental rugs and family antiques augment the splendid architecture to create what one writer called "a near-perfect experience." Our Lowcountry afternoon tea, featuring elegantly presented local recipes, is a much-anticipated daily interlude for guests, many of whom are enticed back to the inn year after year. Yet, at Two Meeting Street Inn, surroundings are only the backdrop, because the Spell family's gracious hospitality has helped enhance Charleston's personality for three generations. We are honored to continue a tradition of fine innkeeping. We treasure the many friends who have been our guests over the years, and we look forward to sharing the inn with new friends in the future.
