Description
Circa 1912. Influential local businessman Marcus Doty built this home, which features William Morris-style architecture. Doty made sure his home was a showplace from the beveled-glass windows to the molded plaster ceilings with extensive oak and chestnut woodwork. It was also the first home in the county to include indoor plumbing. Three of the guest rooms include the home's original clawfoot or pedestal tubs. All of the guest rooms have a fireplace. The gracious veranda is the location for afternoon refreshments and breakfast in good weather. Although enjoying a lazy day on the inn's swings and rocking chairs is a favorite pastime, you may opt to bicycle through the Winnsboro's historic district or enjoy the area's abundance of outdoor activities, from hunting to fishing to golf.
