Description
Circa 1807. Acclaimed in Charleston as one of the most unique heritage properties in town, and located in the Historic District, East Bay is a Single House with a carriage house in the Federal style. Two large piazzas overlook the walled garden and the harbor. Phoebe Pember, Civil War heroine, was born here. Spacious guest rooms are filled with original art, antiques and fine fabrics. Some rooms offer canopied beds while others have a fully draped poster bed. Breakfast is provided on a silver tray that may be enjoyed in the guest rooms, the dining room or on the piazza.

Room DetailCoach House Queen
The Coach House Queen guest room has wonderful ambience created by a cathedral ceiling with the original 200 year-old exposed beams and a fireplace. This roomfeatures a private shower/tub combination in the bathroom and overlooks our walled garden area and arbor.
Coach House King
The Coach House King guest room is a bright cheery room with a small in-room sitting area and decorative fireplace. A private bath with shower this room overlooks our walled garden area and arbor.
Junior Suite
The Junior Suite in the Coach house features a very comfortable Murphy bed that allows the room to be a spacious living area by day and a romantic bedroom by night, so that it is practically like having two rooms. The room also features a private bath with Jacuzzi jets, armoire with television, closet and is on the first floor of our property, accessed by its own entrance through a walled garden.
Carriage House King
The Carriage House King room is a premier accommodation. It has wonderful ambience, featuring a cathedral ceiling, fireplace, designer fabrics and a small Juliet balcony overlooking our private walled garden with a fountain. The bath is especially attractive with hand-painted Italian tile and a double shower. This room also shares a common living/dining and kitchen area on the downstairs of the carriage house with the Queen bedroom.
Carriage House Queen
The Carriage House Queen guest room has a modern bathroom, large walk-in closet and a small in-room sitting area to enhance your comfort. This room also shares a common living/dining and kitchen in the downstairs of the carriage house with the King bedroom.
Blue Room
The Blue Room is a premier accommodation. The room is relatively unchanged since the house was built in 1807, except for the addition of a bathroom and modern conveniences. Decorated in beautiful blues and whites, this guest room features an antique Queen-size canopy bed and a comfortable sitting area around the fireplace.

1807 construction, with original hand carved, gouged woodwork, and fireplaces with Egyptian marble (not available after 1807) mantles dress the rooms. The Blue Room is virtually
unchanged from 200 years ago. Other rooms still have original fireplaces. Phoebe Pember (Charleston's favorite daughter) was born on the third floor of the main house.
