Circa 1803. Just a block from the harbor, this elegant 1803 Federal house is conveniently located in Newport's Yachting Village. Gather in the parlor to play games, select a book or watch television. Afternoon refreshments, a guest phone line and small refrigerator are also available. In keeping with the ambiance and décor of the period, guest bedrooms feature four-poster, sleigh and canopy beds. The Ida Lewis Room includes a private deck overlooking the rear garden and carriage house. Soak in the clawfoot tub and listen to a CD in the Polo Room. A three-course gourmet breakfast may include house specialties such as Portuguese Sweet Bread French Toast and Eggs Frittata with fresh fruit, home-baked bread and a popular local roast coffee. Tour the mansions and the Tennis Hall of Fame on Bellevue Avenue.

Harrison Room

Named after the famed Newport architect, Peter Harrison, this gracious first-floor bedroom features detailed period paneling and a Robert Adam mantel. It is beautifully appointed with a queen-size canopy tester bed, shaker style furniture, and camel back sofa. The spacious private bathroom has a pedestal sink and shower.

Durfee Room

The Empire-style, ornately carved four-poster queen-size bedstead is the focal point of this handsome room. Classic dark mahogany furnishings and detailed period paneling take you back to an era of luxurious living. This room at the front of the house, has been named for the original owner of the house, Samuel Durfee. The private bathroom with shower is appointed with a separate vanity area.

The Ida Lewis Room

This stunning room features a queen-size mahogany four-poster rice bedstead and has been named after the famous Newport lighthouse keeper, Ida Lewis.
