Visit Weatherbury Farm Vacation Bed and Breakfast in Avella, Pennsylvania for a kid-friendly family farm stay any time of the year. Built in the 1870s, this working beef and sheep farm with a blacksmith shop is surrounded by country gardens and is just 45 miles southwest of Pittsburgh. Play croquet on the lawn, relax on the porch swing or swim in the pool. Air-conditioned guest bedrooms and suites are located in a cluster of restored historic buildings that include the livery, summer kitchen and farmhouse. After a hearty breakfast everyone interested can assist with morning chores. Help feed rabbits, goats, sheep, chicks and gather eggs from the guinea hens. Kids of all ages can participate in the Official Weatherbury Farm Kids Program and receive a certificate.
