Circa 1714. Listed in the National Register, this country farmhouse with hand-molded Flemish Bond brick facade was built originally with Brandywine Blue Granite rubble stone and later enlarged. Retaining its colonial heritage with slanted doorways, winding wood staircases and huge fireplaces, it boasts modern conveniences. There are elegant public sitting areas such as the living room, music room, library with an impressive book collection and breakfast in the dining room. The comfortable guest bedrooms feature antique feather beds and unique architectural details. The eight-acre estate boasts formal gardens that include a fish pond and reflection pool in a serene woodland setting.

Historic Interest

The c.1714 section, 1749 section and 1859 section are pretty much as they were. There is a 1759 bee hive oven accessed from the kitchen and a huge 1859 stone carriage house. The Underground Railroad Museum is now investigating whether the house was a stop on the underground railroad.

Romantic Interest

Set on 8 acres, 4 acres of landscaped gardens and another four wooded trails. Many secluded sitting areas near melodic fountains and a hammock. Inside there are 5 different parlors that allow couples to find their own cozy nook. All rooms have garden views which are artfully lighted in the evening. Breakfast in bed by request and in-room or open-air massage available. Other spa services can be arranged in advance.
