Description
Circa 1809. Enjoy a Civil War Theme bed & breakfast on the Gettysburg Battlefield. Ponds, woods and streams fill the 30 acres of this historic estate. This stone farmhouse boasts four Confederate-themed guest rooms and four Union rooms. Hart's Battery provides a canopy bed and granite walls, while General Merritt's Headquarters takes up an entire floor of the Cornelius Houghtelin farmhouse and includes a fireplace and sitting room. Daily programs offer history demonstrations such as firing muskets and handling cavalry equipment, or artillery ammunition. Friday night ghost stories are another activity. The farm was occupied by Union cavalry and artillery units during the Battle of Gettysburg.
