Description
Circa 1890. Perched on the hillside, this stately Victorian inn is just five blocks from the Columbia River and has views of the forest and the river. It offers four guest bedrooms. A country breakfast is served each morning and it includes egg dishes, bacon, sausage or ham, potatoes, fruit and juices. Astoria is rich in historical and natural beauty. It was the first settlement west of the Rockies and was discovered in 1806 by John Jacob Astor. The inn is eight miles from Ft. Clatsop. Guests enjoy watching ships passing in the Columbia River and in the evening, the ships that anchor in the river basin in front of the inn create a wonderland of twinkling lights.
